Fiona’s POV. I could smell the festival foods from here. I’ve been locked in my room for nearly a week now, staring wistfully out the window at the games and food arranged in stalls. My pack members fluttered from stand to stand buying food, playing games, laughing with each other in a way that made me envious. The atmosphere hanging over the pack was a lively one, with my improved hearing I could pick up the excited screams of children as they ran from game to game, some walking away gleefully with prizes, while others walked away glumly after failing every attempt. As a child I’d also been like that, obsessed with winning every prize possible and eating every bite of food available. And being the spoilt brat that I was, I’d cried when I didn’t have my way I could still remember play
