Chapter 9 – Signing my life over
“You can’t do this,” I scream, fighting against her hold on my arms. She drags me from her office into the hidden apartment and into what I would assume is her bedroom. Fear strikes throughout me and my body; I panic and fight even more, more than I thought possible. I manage to break her hold on me; I sprint in the direction of her office. My heart is beating at a hundred miles an hour, and all I can hear is her footsteps getting closer and closer. I trip over just as I make it into the office, falling flat on my face. I groan before quickly getting back up. I turn to see why her footsteps have stopped, only to find her right behind me.
