Something was bothering his brother, and Alex Burke was determined to find what it was.
Alex sat in the comfortable armchair in the apartment he’d rented after his divorce and watched as his older brother paced his study, sipping a whiskey and running a hand through his hair. Ran worked hard, probably too hard, and he deserved this vacation. He’d come out to L.A. for a week or so a few times a year, but this was the first time he’d agreed to stay for four straight weeks. Alex had planned to get business out of the way that first week, but one of their long-time suppliers had unexpectedly gone under, and it had taken both him and Ran to get it worked out.
