‘Official’ training was cancelled while the Commander recovered. Thank you again, to the angel sent from heaven to bless us with this break. But I desperately needed to run. My muscles itched to feel that familiar burn, so instead of taking a rest day; I headed outside. The sun was already high in the sky, and it had rained sometime in the morning, making the humidity in the air feel like we were in the tropics. I removed the sweatshirt that I’d been wearing, wrapping it around my waist before beginning to run. Sweat dripped from my brow, sliding down my face repeatedly.
