The sound of my body smacking the ground followed by the tumble of the ladder feels like an earthquake despite only being about a ten foot fall. The air is knocked from my lungs as I land flat on my back against moisture laden dirt. An involuntary cough escapes my lips, sending pain through my entire body. Phantom jumps down to my aid, his boots smacking against the ground echo loudly through the large, empty space, but he pays no mind to silence.
