CLARITY I was back in our room before I even knew it, with Alpha Amos still holding my hand. My eyes were glued to our hands. Suddenly, I can’t remember the last time we held hands. It felt like ages since we’ve been this close, too. I would usually feel comfort whenever we’re in this position and moment, but my chest hurts so bad that I feel like it would explode any time soon. Amos’ eyes were filled with worry as he checked on me. “Are you alright? Did he hurt you before I arrived?” “I’m fine,” I uttered, but my vision started to blur out because tears welled in my eyes. He made me sit on the bed, and I could feel him panicking. “Why are you crying then?” I shook my head, still trying to avoid the question, but couldn’t help but get annoyed that my tears always betrayed me.
