AMOS “Here are the people we have rescued.” We were led to a room with around twenty people inside. They all looked ragged, terrified, and exhausted. Some of them were injured, too, probably from trying to fight the traffickers. Most of these people were in their teens, some a little older. There were a few children too. I frowned right after feeling my wolf awakened at the strong scent of fear. It should be uncomfortable, yet I couldn't help but feel thrilled, as if I'm on a hunt. How could I feel contentment from feeling the fear of others? “Is there something wrong?” Gabriel's question snapped me back to reality. I didn't even realize I was already spacing out. A few more seconds, and I could have started shifting unconsciously. “Nothing. I'll step out for a moment. Talk to them.”
