CLARITY
I opened the window and couldn’t help but stare at the moon with adoration. It’s two days until the full moon, and I don’t even know when he will return.
“I hope he’s okay,” I mumbled, returning to bed after closing the windows.
As if on cue, I felt him close. My senses heightened without fail, but I was frozen and suddenly didn’t know what to say or do.
He quietly opened the door, though I’m sure he knew that I was still awake. I was both surprised and relieved to see him after several days, but I didn’t know why he was here at this time.
“Alpha, why are you here?” I asked after I couldn’t take the deafening silence but quickly realized how wrong that sounded.
He stared at me for a moment before responding. “This is my room, isn’t it? I’m going to sleep here.”
