Chapter Eleven Swallowed By Darkness It was nearly ten o’clock when I finally decided that it was safe to leave my office. Dry leaves in a gust of air swept ominously across my face as I opened the large glass door and walked into the night. A grave feeling of gloom hovered around my body and spirit. I tried shaking it off as nonsense, but some impending horror kept driving me back to the dreadful feeling. I worried that I’d have to wait at the station; at night, the trains don’t run as regularly as they do during the day.
