It’s been at least two hours since Kat bit me—maybe more—and the pain has finally started to dwindle. I’m starting to see and experience things differently; the colors are brighter, the edges are sharper, the smells are stronger, and I feel... powerful.
But I don’t feel any less attracted to Alina than I did before I was bitten.
If anything, I feel more attracted to her.
Her father was the Alpha of her pack, and was murdered by vampires? Her boyfriend quite possibly lied about the entire altercation and brought shame to her father’s memory? And she just deals with it all, because… what? Because it’s the only way to bring respect back to her family and name? Because if she rejected Noah, she’d be exiled altogether?
Would that be such a bad thing?
