14. Parade

1332 Words
The weekend of the parade comes so fast. I am so excited about seeing a parade. The parade route is filling up with people by the time I get out there. I wave at everyone I know. Which isn't that many people. But it makes me happy. Then I see Lyn. Her and her friends are fighting for a spot to see it. She waves at me. I run across the parade route and get the attention of the guards, but they don't say anything. I get shoved hard. "This is stupid." "Yea it is." She looks at her friends. "Is anywhere less full?" They shake their heads. "You can watch the balcony if you want. That's where I'm going to sit." "Really?" "Yea, it's fine. I don't know anyone here anyway. I don't care if you sit there or on the porch. Both should be empty. I didn't give anyone else permission to be there." "Come on." She pulls on 1 of her friends, and they follow me back behind the houses. We go in the back door. I check the porch and nobody is on it. There are people in the little front yard, but I think they're allowed to be there. We go up. In the end, there ends up being 7 girls and 1 boy on my balcony. We get seats and the brain brings us water. Then the parade starts. We sit on the rail and watch as Dipak, Marcus, Tre, and Johen walk towards us on horses. They are all done up. I am so excited about watching this. They wave as they walk by, and I nearly fall off the damn balcony. Marcus says something to Dipak. I can't hear anything over the cheering. The bakery float comes along behind them. The carriage is decorated like a cake and I guess it's the owner waving out the window. There are signs on it. Then the guards on horses come. Everyone loves them. They are done up in black and red. All the guards are. Then Thora and Frode go by on their royal carriage. Everyone goes crazy for them with their crowns on. I knew she would want to do that. I scream so loudly as they go by. She smiles and waves at everyone. More guards. Then a spa float goes by. The people are dressed in spa attire giving the parade viewers sample packets of something. Then Elek and his brother go by. They are smiling and waving. I guess it's their parents behind them. Then there's more damn guards. These carry bows and arrows. I about fall off the balcony when I see a pyramid float. It is perfect. Everyone is screaming, and the kids are pointing at the camels. Egypt vacations. Vacation building. I need to go there. Next, are a few floats for the village businesses. Then Tye goes by with his sister. At least I would guess it's his sister. They are having a tea party. I love that. All she does is smile. It's adorable. Everyone cheers for them. Then his parents are right behind them. Behind that is a snowy mountain. It says coming soon - vacation building. It's got an ice tube and someone pretending to ski. Then more guards cause why not? These guards are on horses with bows and arrows. Then 7 black werewolves go by on a float. 1 has a crown on. Then another royalty float. It's Corbin. I wiggle and wonder if I can pounce on Corbin from here. The boy up here grabs me. "No. You're going to fall. Scoot back." I scoot back. The 3 boys on that float are looking at me with eyebrows up. Then the village candy maker. I didn't even know we had 1 of those. But that float goes by. They are giving out candy. We don't get any though. A China float goes by, and they hit a gong on it. It's also got a big dragon sculpture. I need to visit that vacation building soon. After that is a carriage pulled by unicorns. I wave so much. They are so pretty. There's even a pink unicorn. Next is a bunch of gladiators fighting. Me and 2 other girls nearly fall off for that 1. They're not even on a carriage. They are fighting in the path. Some are carrying signs. Some are fighting. Gladiator games. Vacation building. Then it says a date, but I can't see it. The very next float is for the resort there. Then there are guards. After that, a couple of village floats. Then a royal float. Then the Paris float. It has a painter on it. More guards. Island float. It looks like a pool with a big water slide. Then there's a pineapple tree. They look like they are giving out samples of pineapple, but I'm not down there. It's probably not cooked anyway. Then the blacksmith walks with his float. He's got a couple of people walking with him dressed in his armor. Then more guards. Then a row of kings guard. Followed by the king and queen's carriage. Luke is done up as a prince with them. I wave to him, and he smiles and waves. He is such a sweet kid. The girl on the end looks around sad. "The princess isn't in it?" "No. They were worried she'd get ripped apart. She's only allowed to watch." "I wanted to see her done up like a princess." Another girl looks at her. "I've heard she does parades at the Yanin and Borin villages. But I don't think they'll ever let her be out here." The rest of the parade is a bunch of village floats and a huge dragon float that breathes fire. I nearly fall off again for that. After it's over, they ask if they can bring a few people for the night parade and I say sure. I don't care. It was nice having people to sit with. I take a nap and eat dinner at the castle. When I get back, Lynn shows up with some of her friends. There are 6 of them and 3 are boys. In the end, it ends up being about 15 of us. I guess that's not too bad. We go up to the balcony and get ready. Then someone I have never seen before hands me a cup of something. I take a drink and it burns. It's not even my cup. Where the hell? I get off the balcony and walk inside. There are people everywhere. I run into my bedroom and shut the door. I find the brain. "Tell Dipak: My house is full of people. They gave me something that burns." "He said don't drink it. He'll send someone soon." "Ok. Tell him not to forget about me." "He won't." I run back out and sit in my spot. I manage to get a cup that has wine in it. This isn't so bad. 30 seconds later. Marcus, Elek, and Tye land on the balcony. They don't say anything. They go in the house. A couple of minutes later, Marcus comes out putting something in his pocket. "No big parties. I don't want a bunch of kids drinking alcohol here." "Ok." They take off. Then the music starts. Welcome to my house. Dipak is in the lead singing it. He's on a platform. It's got lights on it. Laser lights are shooting into the crowd. It's amazing. Right behind him is the huge dragon that shoots fire. It's shooting fire way up into the sky this time. It's so neat. The village floats are all the same, but most of the royalty floats are gone. The table boys are singing by themselves or with each other. There are so many lights and lasers. I love it. And I love the music. They must have put brains everywhere to sound the music. The whole parade is amazing and so fun.
