Darker times

At dinner Annalise was still a little troubled about the flower crown. When she entered to the dining room, all her family turned their heads to her direction. The emperor's jaw dropped slightly and the empress gasped.

- My little angel! You look stunning! - the empress sais while Annalise took her seat by her side without saying a word.

- Anna, you are actually on time! I'm impressed! - Johnathan said and she smiled politely. Emmett and Sébastien frowned at each other. Annalise was acting strangely.

- How was your say Lizzy? - Sébastien casually asked and kept his gaze on his sister's face trying to catch her thoughts. Suddenly she smiled widely and started to talk about her day, but when it came to the afternoon activities she suddenly covered her mouth. Emmett's face turned darker, he had a bad feeling about it.

- Keep going on Lise. - he ordered more than said, but she shook her head.

- Why are you not telling us what you did this afternoon sweetheart? - Sasha asked with motherly worry in her voice. Emmett got up and walked to Annalise's side. He kneeled down and asked straight.

-Did Berke tell you not to tell us? - everyone looked angry for a second. Annalise was a really cheeky and talkative child, keeping secrets from them wasn't her.

- Call that maid here immediately! - Johnathan ordered and his voice echoed in the dining room. That moment Annalise screamed.

- Stop Daddy! She didn't do anything wrong! - they turned to Annalise and Johnathan stopped the guards.

- Why are you not telling us what happened then? - Sasha asked softly and Annalise crunched her skirt.

- Because you will be annoyed by what I did and I don't want Berke to get in trouble, I really like her. - their parents sighed with relief, but Emmett couldn't let this slip so easily. He glanced and Sébastien and he nodded. Later Sébastien will interrogate Berke. Emmett sat back to his chair but as soon as he sat in front of Annalise and grabbed his knife, her eyes shined with a greenish light. Everyone stopped at what they were doing and Annalise stared at her brother.

- Darkness will arise... The black lion will disappear in it... He needs light!- Annalise cried and screamed.

- GIVE HIM LIGHT! HE WILL DISAPPEAR FOREVER! - at that moment the door swung open and a guard rushed in with a messenger.

- Your highness, we are really sorry to disturb you at dinner, but this is a matter of urgency. - Johnathan nodded and he was grateful that Annalise's vision ended before her secret was discovered. He took the message from the messenger and after reading it his glance fall on Emmett.

- The neighboring Empire just declared a war against us. - Sébastien hit the table woth both fists.

- WHAT IS THEIR EXCUSE?! - he asked and Johnathan handed the letter to him. He read it and laughed like a maniac.

- They must be insane! Just because we refused their son to marry Lizzy?! She is just a six years old child! Their son is 30 for the love of God! - he threw the letter on the table and scoffed before jumping up from the table.

- I'll show that i***t who he will marry... - Emmett grabbed Sébastien's arm before he could storm out of the room.

- Escort Lise back to her room and calm down. - Sasha nodded.

- We will discuss everything when you are back. - Sébastien clenched his fists and he immediately understood Annalise's vision. It was about the war. While they were walking back to her room, Sébastien's mind couldn't stop. He was trying to understand the rest of Annalise's vision. He sighed when they arrived to her room and as soon as they entered he noticed the change in the atmosphere. Annalise's room used to be sweet and simple, but with Berke there it seemed to be brighter.

No wonder why Anna calls her eternal fire. - he thought and after his brief discussion with Berke he walked out troubled but calm from his sister's room. He hurried back to the others and Sasha seeing his expression asked.

- What happened? - Sébastien scratched the back of his neck and said.

- Anna was sad because of a flower crown Berke made for her. She didn't want it to witter. Also... I think Berke knows my ability. She told me to work on my pokerface. - Johnathan looked troubled and glanced at Emmett. He touched his sword and Sébastien immediately lifted both of his hands.

- Whoa! Hold the horses! I think we can trust in her. Or at least, let's trust in Annalise's powers please. Also, I think I know what her vision is about. - they turned to him and waited. Sébastien looked sadly at his brother. Emmett was sent to every war instead of him.

- I think you shouldn't join the war brother. Annalise said the black lion will disappear in the darkness. I'm afraid we will lose you brother.

- We thought about that as well. - Johnathan added. Emmet smiled.

- I won't die. Now, If you excuse me, I have to discuss our strategy with the generals. - Emmet walked out of the room and within two months the war begun.

It was his day to departure. He said goodbye to his family and Annalise ran to him tearing herself out of Berke's arms.

-BROTHER! - she screamed and Emmett turned back smiling brightly at her.

- Don't worry sis. I'll be back soon.

- Take Berke with you! - Emmett's eyes widened and he laughed.

- She is your eternal fire Annalise. I'll be back soon. Take care and don't let Sébastien run around! - Sébastien scoffed playfully but the worry in his eyes betrayed him.

- Take care brother he whispered while Emmett rode out of the gates. Annalise tried to run after him and Sébastien grabbed her firmly in his arms.

- DON'T GO ALONE! TAKE BERKE WITH YOU! - Annalise cried and Sébastien held her stronger. She stopped the fight ans sobbed against her brother's chest.

- The black lion needs light in the darkness. - she mumbled and Sébastien looked after their brother with more worry than ever. What could've Anna seen that made her say these words?
