Emmett
The attacker, with the blade of my knife resting on its neck, glared at me. This time I recognized her immediately but did not take the knife away.
- Berke... What the hell are you doing?! - I asked and she answered in a calm voice. Like being pinned under someone, both hands held down and with a knife at her neck was the most natural thing in the world.
- I came to check on your Highness. The Princess was worried,it was her order. - I put the knife down but kept holding her down.
- Why didn't you use the damn door like any other normal person?! - she looked into my eyes and I felt my anger slowly fading.
- I didn't want to cause a misunderstanding. What would anyone think if I visited your Highness's chambers late at night? - she had a valid point. She didn't say anything else and I suddenly remembered of the ball. Her wig confused me, but I recognized her by the way she danced. I knew that someone will try to approach my sister, but we agreed on not getting involved, at least not tonight. His eyes upon her face, his hand upon her hand, and caressing her delicate waist... The way he whispered to her and made her laugh. These images appeared in my mind driving me mad. I didn't know the origin of my feelings and why these things made me so angry, but when he touched her, I wanted to rip his arms off, su he could never touch her again. With my free hand I grabbed a loose curl of her hair and held gently. My body started to react to her closeness. I leaned closer to her face and felt her sweet scent.
- Your Highness. You seem to be perfectly fine for me. Could you please release me? - she asked still calm. Her calmness in this situation was so absurd.
- You are way too calm for someone in your situation. Isn't this the first time? - I asked and anger filled my heart. I didn't know why I asked something I wasn't ready to hear. When I left years ago, I developed some kind of genuine feelings for her. She was really like fire, strong, independent, unstoppable, warm. She drawn people to her with her kindness and humor. The memory of leaving her here came into my mind. I don't remember for much, just the way her eyes looked into mine and Lise's voice begging me to take Berke with me. I didn't want to. I didn't want her to experience that misery and danger again. Berke smiled.
- If you want to know, If I have ever been in a similar situation, my answer is yes. But those times weren't like this.
- What do you mean by that? - I asked with a dry throat.
-I mean, that when something similar happened before, I was in danger. I know that I'm not in danger now. - her voice sounded so softly. The moonlight illuminated the room and she looked like art. With her red lips, long eyelashes, big, emerald green eyes which shined like a cat's in the dark. The freckles on her face, her dress this time revealed a little of her chest and cleavage. I leaned closer and whispered.
- Are you sure about that? - I felt her smile before she said.
- Absolutely. - that was the point I lost control. I kissed her, I kissed Berke deeply with passion. Her chest lifted and her lips begged for more. I kissed her again and pressed my body against hers. Her hands were still pinned down by me and with my free hand I caressed her waist. I had experience with other ladies before, but their bodies were soft and fragile. Berke although she looked small and fragile, had a really strong and fit body. I felt her slightly defined muscles under the fabric. After a few minutes of kissing I looked into her eyes.
- Leave now. - I said and released her hands. She sat up and now faced me, looking into my eyes again. I tried to avoid her gaze.
- Leave. This is an order! - I said and she chuckled.
- Fine. Just to let you know, I don't take orders from anybody, apart from your sister. - she got up from my bed and walked next to me. Berke leaned down, placed a kiss on my cheek and said.
- Sweet dreams, Emmett. - my name on her lips sent a shiver down my spine, but before I could've catch her and never let her go again, she was already out of the window. I walked to the window and watched how she climbed down, like a cat.
We must strengthen the vigilance of the castle walls. - I thought and closed the window. I laid in my bed and inhaled Berke's scent that she left on my pillow. That was the first night in four years, when I could finally sleep peacefully.
