Jonathan POV
"What is going on here?" Sarah demanded, standing up and stepping in front of us.
"We really need to talk to him," I said, pointing at the werewolf who currently looked like he was about to pee all over himself.
Sarah stared at us suspiciously. "And why might that be?"
Before we could think of an answer, the guy whispered to her, "Sarah, why didn't you tell me your brothers were Ly-"
"Let's all go inside for a minute," Jameson cut him off.
A couple of the other party goers looked at us funny, but most of them ignored us as the four of us walked inside. Mom and a couple of her friends were sitting in the kitchen, so we headed for the downstairs den.
Once we were all in the room, I closed the door and we all sat down on the couches and chairs in there. The werewolf was literally on the edge of the couch.
Sarah was glaring at us. "So what is the deal with you two? Since when do we treat a guest this way?"
"Sarah, there are things you don't know about him," I began.
"Nathan and I have been friends for more than two years," Sarah pointed out. "He was the first friend I made when I moved to the college. I'd say I know him pretty well."
"Yes, but did you know he's a w - " I started to say, but he cut me off.
"A werewolf," he said flatly. "Yes, she knows." He turned to Sarah. "Why didn't you tell me your brothers were Lycans?"
Her jaw dropped. "My brothers are WHAT?!"
He frowned at her. "You didn't know?"
At the same time, Jameson and I were both staring wide-eyed at her. "You knew about werewolves?" I exclaimed. She nodded, looking like she was possibly going into shock. I turned to Nathan. "No, she didn't know." I told him. "We just found out ourselves."
Now it was his turn to have his mouth agape. "Just found out?" he said, astonished. "You mean you didn't know what you are?"
I shook my head. "We were adopted, and it appears they left that information off of the adoption papers," I replied, somewhat sarcastically. Beside me, Jameson snorted.
"You mean a set of Lycan parents adopted you out to humans, without them knowing about Lycans?" he asked, shocked.
Jameson shook his head. "Not exactly. Apparently they also left out the fact that we were kidnapped." I heard Sarah let out a little gasp at that. "But Sarah doesn't even know about all that, and neither do our parents. But that's not the reason we dragged you in here. We need reassurance that you're not going to hurt our sister."
Sarah and Nathan both shook their heads. "I would never hurt her," he said firmly. "She too special to me."
I raised an eyebrow. "Special? In what way?"
Sarah rolled her eyes. "Guys, seriously? I'm 20. Give it up already."
"Give it up?" Jameson replied. "You're our sister. We will never 'give it up.'"
Nathan laughed at that. "You guys have nothing to worry about. Not only am I only attracted to other werewolves, I'm gay. Sarah is one of the closest friends I've ever had, kinda like the sister I always wanted."
"Now that that's out of the way, what's this about you two being Lycans and why didn't I know?" Sarah said impatiently.
We both laughed. "We only found out ourselves last night," Jameson told her.
"And we only found out about the kidnapped part this morning," I added.
"How, exactly, did you find out you were kidnapped?" she asked. "I was pretty little, but I remember the day that creepy guy brought you two here."
"Our Lycans told us," we said in unison. Then we both laughed. For as long as I could remember, we'd been finishing each other's sentences.
Then I realized what she had said.
"Creepy?" I asked. "How exactly was he creepy?"
She shrugged. "I just got bad vibes from him. Little kids can pick up on some things more easily than adults, so I kinda figured that's why Mom and Dad didn't suspect anything. But to me, he just seemed creepy."
"Well, according to my Lycan, he's our uncle," I told her. "Arthur Dellon, DeLyon, something like that."
I saw Nathan go pale. "What is it?" I asked him.
"Your-your uncle is Arthur DeLyon? Are you sure?" he croaked out.
"That's what my Lycan said," I replied.
"Mine too," Jameson said.
Nathan stared at us, eyes wide as saucers. "You don't know who he is, do you?"
We both shook our heads. "Not a clue," Jameson confirmed.
"Arthur DeLyon is part of the royal family," he told us. "He's a prince. Or at least he was, until King Sebastien exiled him for treason several years back. That was right after - " He broke off and stared at us again. "Wait, tell me your names again please?"
"Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce y'all," Sarah said quickly. "Nathan Davis, meet my a**hole brothers, Jameson and Jonathan." She pointed to us as she said our names.
He studied us for a minute, then shook his head. "I'll never keep you straight. Even your scents are close to identical."
We laughed. Most people had a really difficult time telling us apart so we were used to that.
"Anyway," Nathan continued, "I think I can help you out some. I, ah, I think I might know where you came from."
Jameson POV
Wait. Did he just say he might know where we came from?!
'He's going to tell you you're royalty,' Donovan piped up.
'He what?! We're....what?!'
'Royalty. You know, as in crown princes, royal balls, dating princesses, sons of the King and Queen?'
'Ugh. I KNOW what royalty means, you weirdo. But, seriously? We're royalty?'
'Yes,' he confirmed. 'Damien and I wanted to confirm a couple of things before we told you, but looks like wolfie boy over there is trying to beat us to it.'
I snorted. Wolfie boy. 'So were you able to confirm what you wanted? And how would you even do that when you're stuck in my head?'
He humphed. 'Just because I'm in your head doesn't mean I'm stuck. We have our ways of communicating with the Moon Goddess without you knowing. And we're planning to meet with her after you and Jonathan go to sleep tonight, but it looks like wolfie boy might confirm it before then.'
When I refocused my gaze, Nathan was looking at us with an eyebrow raised. "Done talking to your Lycans?" he asked.
So apparently Damien had been talking to Jonathan while Donovan talked to me. We both nodded at Nathan.
"What did they tell you?" Nathan asked.
"Let's see if you tell us the same thing," Jonathan spoke up. "If it matches, then we'll go from there."
Nathan nodded. "Fair enough. Ok, so apparently, almost fifteen years ago, a set of Lycan twins was kidnapped. But they weren't just any Lycan twins. These were identical twins boys that were - are - the heirs to the throne. Normally they would give the throne to the twin born first, but in this case, the King and Queen made a deal with the Moon Goddess so both boys would be crowned King, since they would be sharing the same mate anyway. I don't know the details of that deal, as I'm obviously just a werewolf. They always knew it had to be an inside job, since there are guards literally everywhere throughout the castle at all times, and it wasn't any different back then. Arthur was exiled not long after when he was caught planning to assassinate the king - his own brother. Again, I'm not privy to all the details. They suspected him of kidnapping the twins, but they never could get him to admit he'd done it or where the boys were. And I'm pretty sure the two of you share a name with those two boys. Also, your auras are super strong, especially for your Lycans being brand new and the two of you not having known what you were."
"Auras? What are auras?" I asked him.
"I'm wondering too, because I don't feel anything," Sarah added.
"You wouldn't, because you're human," he told her. "Basically, it's the feeling you emit to the other supernaturals around you. It lets them know your position in the hierarchy, whether or not you're above them, etc. You learn to control it as you mature. For example, my Alpha, Terrance is a pretty laid back guy and not violent like a lot of alphas. He generally chooses not to let everyone around him know he's an alpha unless he has to. So unless someone is threatening his mate, family, or pack, he basically turns his aura off. Those that have never met him may or may not realize he's an alpha. But I've been near him when he's projected his aura and everybody around immediately bowed their heads in submission. Does that make sense?"
We all nodded. "Yeah, it actually does," I told him. "Thank you for explaining that. Now, another question. How did Sarah find out you're a werewolf?"
They both laughed.
"It was the second week of freshman year," Sarah began. "I was happy because I had made friends with this guy that seemed really cool, and fun to look at." Nathan laughed at that. She shrugged. "It's true. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when you told me you were gay. Anyway, we had a class together, and I decided to swing Nathan's dorm to see if he wanted to walk together and maybe go to breakfast first. But I saw him walk out of the dorm as I was coming up the road. He went towards the woods so I figured he was going for a run. He'd told me before he liked to run in the forest in the mornings sometimes. Anyway, I thought it be funny to sneak up on him, so I followed him from a distance until I saw him go behind this huge rock. I jumped around it to yell boo, and there he stood, halfway shifted into a wolf. He had fur covering him already, and I happened to jump around in time to see his face change into a wolf's face. Scared the s**t out of me."
"What did you do then?" I asked.
Nathan laughed. "She passed out. On the spot. I immediately shifted back, threw my shorts on, and made sure she was breathing. Couple minutes later, she came to, looked at me, screamed bloody murder, and tried to jump up and run away. But I couldn't let her do that. One, because I didn't want her to be scared of me, and two, if she told the wrong person, werewolf hunters might have descended on that place like locusts on a wheat field. It could've been really bad. I don't normally shift that close to humans, but my dorm is all werewolves, and it's set off by itself. I really didn't expect anyone else to be out there at that time of morning. She was downwind of me so I didn't smell her, and I had my Airpods in like a dummy so I didn't hear her. Anyway, I grabbed her and held her there until she calmed down and listened to me. It took nearly an hour for me to calm her down and convince her she wasn't crazy. I had to shift again and let her pet Jack, my wolf, so she'd be convinced I wasn't going to kill her in her sleep."
"Tell them what I did after you shifted back," Sarah told him.
Nathan winced. "She kneed me in the southern region for scaring her that bad. I knew then we'd be friends for life."
We all laughed.
"That's my girl," Jonathan said with a smirk. "I taught her well."
"WE taught her well," I corrected him.
"Oh, both of you hush before I school you both," she told us. "Lycan princes or not, I'm still the boss."
