Fiona’s POV I stop right outside his bedroom door. Once again I hear the pained growls of a wolf and I realize with a start that it must be Micah’s wolf. But, it can’t be. Only fated mates can hear each other’s wolves and mine has been dormant since birth! Still, I put aside the puzzling thoughts and hesitantly knock on his door. When there is no answer after the third knock, I take a deep breath and push inside. I can’t shake the feeling that no matter what he says, Micah needs me right now. Inside, darkness swallows me. The only light in the room is the faint moonlight from his bedroom window. My eyes strain, adjusting to the dimly lit room. There’s a shape against the far wall. I step closer, and the outline becomes clearer. Micah is sitting on the floor, his back against the wal
