A little before one in the afternoon, Shelley emailed everyone to say happy holidays. Unspoken in her message was the green light to call it a day. Even as Micah turned off his computer, he heard laughter and cheers from other offices as his coworkers got ready to leave for the long weekend. Remembering his secret Santa gifts, Micah opened his briefcase, removed the blueprints inside which he wouldn’t bother looking at over the holiday, and added the presents from his desk drawer. Fortunately the boxes were slim—nothing bulged when he closed the briefcase, and unless someone looked, they’d never suspect he had an arsenal for a good f**k inside.
