“What are you talking about?” She breathes out, her heart beating so hard against the thin fabric of my grey T-shirt that the non-wizard part of me stirs. It makes me clench my fists. The wolf who doesn’t talk is banging against the back of my brain, trying to stop me from trying to bond myself with Avery. He wants me to run and never look back because it means she will be safe.
