“That isn’t necessarily accurate, the Sceptre might be able to hold off some of his armies but it won’t hold them all.” King William sighs, slipping his hands into the pockets of his pants.
“Back when the guardians were alive and the kingdoms were united under one rule, four holy weapons of light were forged. The Holy Scepter of Tahan, the Golden Mirror of Salem, the Crimson Crystals of Sakhalin, and the Sword of Scala. It was predicted through a prophecy that one day; a dark rein will fall on the people of Light when the Kingdom of Nirvana becomes divided."
“A dark rein... do you mean King Jaffa's rise to madness?"
“Yes, precisely."
“In other to ensure the dark telling of the prophecy never comes to pass, Emperor Astrakhan summoned the finniest welders the Kingdom had to offer and they forged the Holy weapons. When the Kingdom of Nirvana fell apart after the Guardians left, each of these weapons was sent off to a particular location for safekeeping until the rise of the prophecy. But as time passed one century after the other, the prophecy was forgotten and these weapons were said to be lost. The Golden Mirror is used to open the portals of Nirvana, the Holy Sceptre is used to immobilize the demons and hold them captive, the Crimson Crystal is used to identify these demons, suck out their souls from the souls of their captives, and send what’s left of the damaged souls possessed to Nirvana. While the Sword of Scala is used to eradicate the souls of demons.”
“Is this true?” Lord Hanks inquires in disbelief and the Queen nods.
“According to history, it is.”
“Well, if these weapons exist then we have to get hold of them, and quickly too.”
“That wouldn’t be so easy to do,” The Queen replies, a sigh leaving her lips. “These weapons were created through magic, so in other to find them we need the help of magic. But as you are aware, magic has long since left our Kingdoms and the practice is forgotten. Besides, according to the prophecy, the Celestial Sisters of Sakhalin have to rise to their full potential before the search for these weapons can commence. When they do, the Strategist, the Keeper, the Knight, and the Hunter will be appointed.”
She draws closer to her King and slowly traces the ancient markings peeking out of the collar of his shirt with the tips of her fingers.
“But before all of that, they will need to assess the map that will guide them to where these weapons are hidden.”
“What map are you talking about your highness?”
She slowly lifts her lashes to gaze into the eyes of her King, playing coy when she sees the smouldering look directed her way. Drawing away from her husband, she turns to their clueless adviser and smiles.
“That’s beside the point, right now we need to figure out a way to buy time. The Celestial sisters of Sakhalin need to be found first and I know someone who can help me find them, after they’re found we can draw up a plan and if all goes accordingly, we might just outsmart the Klan’s.”
“The Royal selection is in a month your majesties, perhaps we could pacify King Jaffa by sending an invite to his daughter.”
Sharing a look, both rulers contemplated their options for a minute before nodding. “How many scouts did you say you sent to the Tahan Kingdom, Lord Hank?”
“50 scouts your majesties, though 10 are still yet to report back.”
“Good, inform those 10 that we need them to stay in Tahan for an extended period. We’ll need all the information they can gather for us before we make a move. We also need to find out more about those rebels and if they really have the sceptre, and then go on from there.”
“Since the selection is going to be in a few weeks, why don’t we adjourn our next meeting until further notice. My Queen, are preparations in order?”
“Of course, they are.”
“Good, let’s not endeavour to waste another moment before we send King Jaffa an invitation.”
Turning to his adviser, he continues. “Once you receive word from your scouts, let us know as soon as possible.”
“Of course your Majesty.” He bowed.
