“All right, gentlemen.” Watters gathered his men around him. “We may be further forward, and we may not. Let"s recap what we have before I visit Doreen Maguire and Mrs Dewar.”
“We"ve got two murders, Sergeant,” Scuddamore said. “Both men of some standing and one, at least, known to have gambled and used prostitutes.”
“A man with a hidden life,” Duff added.
“That"s correct. We also know that both had some interest in pugilism and visited a shady prize fight, yet we have no known motive for the murders,” Watters said. “We"re not sure why Mr Forsyth or Captain Kilner were murdered, except a woman may be involved. However, I have an idea that might be logical.”
“What"s that, Sergeant?” Scuddamore asked.
