Chapter Six

1153 Words
Mason POV My brothers gave me hell, over the next few days, calling me whipped and thanked me for taking one for the team, as if. Their time will come too. For now, I have no idea what I am supposed to do with Heather. Mum convinced me to take her to a nice restaurant and talk, and get to know her, so I booked a table at my favorite Italian restaurant, and now I am second-guessing myself, asking myself if she would actually like Italian or if I should have picked a different restaurant. I have no idea. I have never tried to get to know a woman before. I usually pick one up at a club, and sometimes we bed them. Most of the time, I don’t, I just kiss and grope and finish it off with our hands later. Now, I have got to find a way to actually have a conversation. What do women talk about? Their hair and makeup. Do you like their dresses? My brothers had come up with loads of ideas, but now, it is time to go out and pick her up and talk about who knows what. I am nervous and all the questions I had rehearsed with my brothers are all forgotten. I had put on a nice suit, and I was pleased with how I looked. I went downstairs and met up with Mum and Dad and my brothers, as they waited to see me off. A maid called Suzette gave me a smirk and as she was walking by with the other maids, she stopped, grabbed my tie, and acted like she was straightening it. I pushed her away and she pouted, but turned and continued to keep walking with the others. ‘Mum, can you do something about Suzette's attempts? I am getting fed up with her constant attempts to get into my bed, I have to even lock my door at night now.’ I whined. ‘Really, she is still trying to get into your bed? I saw what she just did as she is placing her claim on you. Let me think about what I can do. It is not like she has broken any laws. Maybe reassign her to another castle. Yes, that is what we can do, send her to the west castle.’ Mum says speculatively. ‘Do it, Mum, I have no idea why it is me she has chosen, why not one of the others? Michael might even entertain the idea of bedding her.’ ‘No way, she is not my type?’ Michael retorted. ‘When did you start having a type?’ my brother Jacky asked. He was as confused as me. I broke out into a chuckle when Jacky asked the same question that entered my head. ‘Get out of here, Mason, and woo that girl.' my brother Micheal said with a chuckle. They almost shoved me out the door and into the car. Gerry was going to drive us. Mum thought a familiar face might make her more relaxed and Gerry was pleased to have been chosen. On the way to her home, Gerry was telling me how nice Heather was and how lucky I was to have such a nice girl. Gerry pulled up outside a modest home. I was glad she was of higher ranking. I dreaded getting an omega, not that there is anything with omegas, but all the ones I have met have been too submissive for me to want one as a mate. The walk to the door felt like it was shorter than it really was. I was there contemplating knocking way too soon. I was not ready for this, and I found it hard to believe that my mate found me lacking in any way. I was a proud man, and now that I have got used to the idea of having a mate, I want Heather, more than she would even know. Raising my hand to knock, the door flew open and Silvia was standing in the doorway, staring at me in disbelief. I dropped my hand to my side. ‘Oh, she is not going to like this, I can’t wait to see her reaction.’ She gloated as she turned and waved her hand for me to follow. I had no idea what Silvia's comment meant. I shrugged and followed her into the house. The house was warm and cozy, very inviting. I liked the family photos. A huge wall of family photos made a large collage of the family growing up. It had taken up the whole left wall. You could see they were proud of their family. Silvia pushed me into the lounge room where Ben, a number of boys I didn’t know, and Sheila were seated. ‘Good evening.’ I said as I entered the room, and held out my hand for her father, Ben, to shake. ‘Welcome to my home, though I don’t think you will be here for long.’ Before I could work out what he meant, I heard Heather behind me. ‘Get out and go home.’ She spoke quietly but confidently. ‘Why?’ I was confused. ‘You have the nerve to come here smelling like another woman and ask me why?’ ‘What woman? I haven’t been with another woman.’ I argued back, confused by her comment. ‘I told you that I would not accept any excuse if you smelt of another woman, then you must leave, and we have added another week to our agreement,’ she turned and walked away, and I could not help admiring the sight as she walked off. ‘Do I have the smell of another woman on me?’ I looked at Ben and asked. Silvia answered, ‘You sure do honey, I can’t believe you would show up with the scent of another on you, after all the negotiations your mother made to get you two to date.’ She laughed, and her brothers joined in. ‘Sorry, son, you will have to leave. Maybe you can call again next week, and we shall see if we can calm Heather down a little.’ Ben escorted me out of the house, leaving me confused as hell. I climbed into the back of the car and asked Gerry to drive me home. I fished out my phone and canceled the restaurant booking. ‘You and the little lady not going out tonight?’ Gerry asked solemnly. ‘Do I smell of another woman to you Gerry?’ I asked, sniffing myself and coming up short. ‘Yes, sir, you have Suzette's fragrance on you. It is a distinct smell.’ He replied honestly. ‘Oh! s**t, that bitch.’ I growled. ‘Excuse me, sir?’ ‘Before I left to get in the car, she pretended to straighten my tie, that b***h just ruined my first date with my mate.’ I was seething.
