“Uncle Xavier!” I rushed over to him in a scream with a glass of Chardonnay in my hand the second he entered the manor library where Alex and I were waiting that afternoon. He took me in a hug like he would never let me go. I was the one that had to break contact first. I was both upset and glad that he was here. It was always nice to have him around. But his consistent dwelling on my stalker and safety was never pleasing.
