Chapter 1
Alessandro "Alex" Rossi, the 28-year-old billionaire mafia boss, stood in his opulent office, gazing out the window at the Manhattan skyline. His mind was preoccupied with the meeting he was about to have.
As the head of the Rossi crime family, Alex had built his empire through ruthless business tactics and strategic alliances. But despite his success, he knew that his family's legacy was at stake. His father's health was declining, and Alex needed to secure his position as the next head of the family.
That's where Angel Jenkins came in. Her father, John Jenkins, owed the Rossi family a substantial debt, one that he couldn't pay back. Alex had been willing to forgive the debt, but only if John agreed to one condition: his daughter Angel would marry Alex.
Alex's assistant, Marco, entered the room, interrupting his thoughts. "Sir, Mr. Jenkins is here to see you."
Alex nodded, and Marco escorted a middle-aged man, dressed in a simple suit. John Jenkins looked nervous, his eyes darting around the room before finally settling on Alex.
"Mr. Rossi," John said, his voice trembling. "I've come to discuss the terms of our agreement."
Alex gestured to a chair in front of his desk. "Please, sit down, Mr. Jenkins. I believe we have a mutually beneficial arrangement to discuss."
As John sat down, Alex couldn't help but notice the desperation in his eyes. He knew that John was in a difficult position, but Alex was willing to do whatever it took to secure his family's legacy.
"Mr. Jenkins," Alex began, his voice firm but polite. "I believe we've discussed the terms of our agreement. Your daughter Angel will marry me, and in return, I'll forgive your debt."
John nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "Y-yes, sir. I understand."
Alex leaned forward, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Good. I expect Angel to be here tomorrow, ready to sign the marriage contract."
John nodded again, this time more firmly. "She'll be here, sir."
As John left the office, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had secured his family's legacy, and he would stop at nothing to protect it.
But little did he know, his life was about to become much more complicated.
Alex's phone buzzed, breaking his train of thought. He answered, listening to the voice on the other end.
"What is it, Marco?" Alex asked, his tone firm.
"It's about your stepmother, sir," Marco replied. "She's been making moves, trying to gather support among the other families."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "I see. And what's her endgame?"
"She wants to take control of the family business, sir," Marco said. "She's been spreading rumors that you're not fit to lead, that you're too young and inexperienced."
Alex's jaw clenched. "I'll take care of it, Marco. Thank you for keeping me informed."
As Alex hung up the phone, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. His stepmother, Isabella, had always been a thorn in his side, but he had never thought she would try to overthrow him.
He pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand. He had a wedding to prepare for, and he needed to make sure that everything went smoothly.
