Dizzy and weak. Those were the first feelings that rocketed through Fiona’s body as her eyes flipped open. There was an insistent ringing in her ears and a fire ranged within her body, almost burning her from the inside. Fiona tried to lift her hands, but they felt like lead weights attached to her sides. Her eyelids felt glued together and she struggled to keep them open and even as she did, her vision kept going blurry every couple of seconds. She constantly had to blink them furiously to keep them away. A sharp pain pierced her temple and a pained gasp escaped her lips, as she struggled to roll onto her back on the bed facing the ceiling. As soon as she did so, it came to her attention just how bad off she actually was. She couldn’t feel her legs or arms and her back hur
