Keira

I never thought in a million years that I would get the chance to be happy. You hear stories about second chance mates but you never really believe it until it happens to you. I'm currently locked in my mates bathroom.

"Daddy!"

"Keira is that you? What's wrong princess? Did someone hurt you I'll kill them!"

"I'm with some guy he says that I'm his mate. My mate died, I was there I saw him die" I cried.

"Calm down Keira. You're a royal, Alphas, betas, and royals have second mates in order to ensure that the bloodline continues. Do you feel a connection with him?"

“Well yeah when he looked in my eyes I fell in love when he stopped touching me I felt cold."

"Keira come out I wont hurt you." I heard him softly.

"Is that him?" My dad asked.

"Yes I'm in his bathroom. I'm scared to go out there."

"Keira he's your mate he wont hurt you."

"Damon's Serenity mate and that didn't stop him."

"Damon is a nuckle head. He realized his mistakes and is trying to fix it. Put the boy on the phone." I opened the door and handed him the phone

"Whose this?" He asked while taking the phone.

His eyes widened. "King Damon... Yes sir....Warren ... I would never hurt her sir she's my mate, I love her already. I'll take care of her sir I promise.... No no that's not necessary... Thank you."

He handed me back the phone looking spooked. My dad must have threatened him like he did my ex boyfriend. He was so scared to date me that he broke up with me the next day. Being in the royal family is a pain they’re always running off boys that like me.

"Daddy what did you say to him? He looks like he's seen a ghost." I giggled.

"I love you dad see you next month."

"Your dad is scary."

"Wait until you meet my other dad and brothers." I gave him his phone back. And stood there awkwardly.

"You don't have to be scared."

"I'm not scared I'm just in shock. I didn't think that I would get a chance to meet you. My first mate died and so did my hope of having a family of my own."

Warren

She was so beautiful, I dreamed of having a mate as beautiful as her since I was a kid. I cant believe that I finally found her. I’ve been jealous of my friends because half of them had a mate and I didn’t.

“Is that me?“ She asked.

My face heated up and I snatched the picture from her. Yeah men blush too. I can't believe I left my book open. The first time I saw her was when I was little and we went on a field trip to the castle, she was so pretty and nice. Ever since then I've been drawing pictures of her, I never thought that any one would see.

"These are great." She said while flipping through the through sketches.

"I didn't want anyone to see those. You probably think I'm some kind of stalking creep." I drew and had pictures of her, you would think that she was some type of celebrity.

"No no I don't. I love them."

Warren!

Yes Alpha.

Get to my office now! He sounds pissed.

"I have to go meet with the Alpha. I'll be back as soon I can, make yourself comfortable." I hated to leave her I just found her.

"Wait!" She yelled.

"Don't I get a kiss goodbye?" She pouted. I was shocked at first but I got over it. I walked over to her and kissed her long and hard. I wanted to do more but my Alpha linked me again telling me to get my *ss to his office now. I kissed her forehead and went to the Alphas office.

"Yes Alpha?"

"Close the door."

"Care to tell me why my third in command saw another Alpha in my territory and didn't tell me?" I didn't know what he was talking about. I was at the club not doing rounds.

"I wasn't doing rounds tonight Alpha."

"But you were at the club and that's where he was spotted. He has your sister." s**t! I was so engrossed in my mate that I didn't even think about my sister.

Celeste. I linked her. Celeste answer me! I yelled.

What is it s**t face stop yelling!

Where are you? The Alpha says that another Alpha crossed on this territory and took you.

I'm fine, Ryan is my mate.

Are you sure that you're OK?

Yes I'll see you tomorrow. She said before cutting the link.

"Celeste says that Alpha Ryan is her mate."

"I don't give a damn!" He yelled. "He crossed onto my territory without my permission, that's grounds for a war. I've been wanting their land for years and I'm going to have it!"

Alpha Dan has been acting crazy lately. His son is my age and should have had the title by now but he wont give it up. He says that his son is not capable of running a pack but we all know differently.

“Are you sure that you want to do this Alpha? They are a strong pack.”

“We're stronger!” He yelled slamming his fists on the desk breaking it in half. “I'll schedule a pack meeting we strike tomorrow night.”

I went back to my room, Keira was sitting on the bed watching TV. I had a bad feeling about this, Ryan's pack is strong and this is really no reason to go to war. Ever since Alpha Dan's wife died he's been acting crazy. He's been letting his wolf take over more, he's slowly losing control.

“You're back.” She smiled. “Whats wrong?”

I sighed. “The Alpha wants to go to war because Alpha Ryan came on our territory without permission. We strike tomorrow night. I think that this is a total waste of time but Alpha Dan is on a power hunt.”

She did a whole 360. Her face turned red. “Where is your Alpha?”

“Why?”

“Where is he?” She yelled.

“In his office what's wrong?”

“Show me.” I walked her to his office.

“I have to warn you he has a short temper so please don't disrespect him.” She nodded her head I knocked on the door.

“Enter.”

“Alpha.”

“What is it Warren I'm not changing my mind.”

“I think you will.”

“Who the hell are you?”

“You wont be going to war with the Black pack. Alpha Ryan had good reason to cross onto your territory, his sister went missing and we followed her scent to a club downtown. He didn't have time to contact you.”

“I don't care. We're going to war and that's final!” He yelled.

“Do you know who I am? I can have your title stripped for disrespecting me. I wont tell you again that you wont be going to war.”

“Keira calm down.”

“I will not calm down! Serenity is in that pack and I will not watch her or my family get hurt!”

“You listen here you little b*tch I don't need your permission. I'm the Alpha and what I say goes.”

“You're a coward. You can't even go head to head with him, you have to strike him when he's not expecting it what kind of alpha are you?”

This is getting out of hand fast. “Will the both of you ju-” Before I could finish that sentence Alpha Dan had his hand around her throat. I knew that I couldn't beat an Alpha but I'll be damned if I stand here and watch him hurt my mate. I shifted and charged at him knocking him to the floor.

“You pathetic mutt. Shift!” He ordered. I tried to fight the order but I couldn't he was my Alpha. I shifted back and he threw me some shorts. A few minutes later some of the enforcers came in.

“Take these two to the cells.”

“You cant do that!” I yelled. “I wont let you hurt my mate.”

“Alpha Dan are you sure? She is the Princess of the werewolves.” One of the enforces said.

“I don’t care who she is, make sure they're in the silver cells.”

“My brothers are going to kill you!”

“Oh and just in case.” He came around the desk with two syringes.

“NO!” I yelled. I shifted but was to late he had already injected her. I knew what that stuff did, we used it on prisoners all the time. She wont be able to mind link or shift. She would start sweating and feeling sick like she had the flu. It wont kill her but she will be weak until he injects her again with the drugs to reverse it.

I shifted back and ran to her cradling her in my arms. “You're going to be OK baby.” Her eyes closed and my wolf surfaced again. I put her down, shifted and attacked who ever was in my way. I was going to kill Alpha Dan. But before I could get to him the Beta and two other wolves held me down while the Alpha injected me. The last thing I saw was Alpha Dan's smiling face.

I woke up the next morning with my body on fire. I looked around the cell looking for Keira, I found her cuddled on the poor excuse of a mattress.

“Keira baby wake up.” She moaned but didn't open her eyes. I felt her head she was burning up. I stood up and almost fell back over. I felt light headed but I had to help my mate. I ripped a piece of the sheet and ran cold water on it before going back to her.

I put it on her head hoping to cool her off. Alpha Dan has gone too far this time. No one has seen his son in weeks. I'm starting to think he did something to him.

“Keira baby open your eyes.”

“I'm Cold.” She mumbled. I got on the bed and wrapped my body around hers. I tried to keep my eyes open but I couldn't. I woke up again feeling a little better but I was still feeling like sh*t. Keira she was pale, too pale.

Mate! My wolf kept whining.

Would you shut up!

Mark her now.

No this is not the time.

Your mark will make the both of you stronger.

I hope you're right if she tries to kill me I'm blaming everything on you.

“Keira.” I shook her and she moaned. “I'm going to mark you now, I wish it would have been more romantic but your health is more important." I rolled her on her back. I kissed down her neck until she moaned. I knew this was the spot so I bit down on her neck.

Keira

I was feeling like crap. I kept hearing the sexiest voice ever telling me to wake up. I wanted to, I really did. I needed to find out who that voice belonged to. My eyes flew open when someone bit my neck. He licked my mark and got up. Everything came back to me and I growled, I’m going to kill that Alpha!

“Warren!”

“Keira thank god! are you OK?”

“I feel like I've been ran over by a truck. You look awful.” He chuckled.

“I'm fine I'm more worried about you.”

“You marked me!?” His eyes went wide and he became nervous.

“I'm sorry. My wolf said that it would make you stronger. I wish it could have been more romantic.” He started to ramble on, it was cute. I've never had a man lost for words. He's not like any Beta I know. So far he's been sweet and caring and not losing his temper.

“It's OK I'm not mad.” I smiled.

“You're not?” He asked surprised.

“No. You were thinking about me and now it's my turn!”

“What?” I flipped him on his back. I didn't wait for him to say anything else. I bit down on his neck and we both moaned. After I was done I licked his neck, sat up and smiled.

“There!” His eyes turned black and he growled. He didn't look the same.

“Warren? Warren what's wrong?” He got off the bed and faced the wall. He was breathing hard and shaking. Suddenly he shifted to his wolf, he took up half the cell!

“Warren you're scaring me.” He growled and shifted back.

“Omg, Keira I'm so sorry I don't know what happened.”

“Warren!” My eyes went wide and I gasped.

“What? What's wrong?” He looked hotter than he was before. He was taller and more ripped.

“Keira?”

“Ye-yeah?” I stuttered.

What's going on? I asked my wolf

You marked him, it made him stronger. He's our mate, our genes mixed with his making him a royal as well.

“You-your bigger!” He looked in the dirty mirror over the sink and gasped.

“What the hell? What happened?” he asked looking at his self.

“You're now a royal wolf.” I smiled.

“Warren.” We looked up to see a boy around our age. He had long blonde hair that covered his eyes. He reminded me of a surfer.

“Malik man get me out of here.”

“Ssshh!” He said. “Somebody will know I'm down here. Everyone is getting ready for the meeting. What the hell happened to you? You're taller than me now.” He asked amazed.

“I'll explain later. Just get us out of here.”

“I can't get you out he has the keys.”

“You have to get a message to my brothers.”

“Princess Keira?” He gasped.

“Yes it's me.”

“Warren looks like your dream finally came true.” He smirked. Warren smiled and kissed me.

“Yeah I guess prayer does work.” I blushed and looked away.

“Hate to break up the love fest but how am I going to contact the Princes?” I gave him their number and told him to explain everything. If I knew my brothers we will be out of here within the hour.

“I wont let you down princess.” He saluted us and left.

“How do you know him?”

“Malik? He's one of the wolves that I patrol with. He's a funny guy but takes his job serious. He'll get the message to your brothers.”

“I'm scared, what if we never get out of here?” I was afraid that the Alpha would catch him and throw him down here with us.

Warren

I couldn't stand to see her cry and I hated the fact that she was scared and there was nothing that I could do.

“Warren I don't feel so good.” F*ck I cursed. I caught her before she passed out. I don't know why I wasn't feeling sick, obviously she was. I layed her on the bed and paced the room for god knows how long. The silver was starting to get to me but I needed to be strong for Keira, I couldn't let her see me weak.

“Here's your dinner.” It was Frank, a wolf that hated me for breaking his sisters heart. She was the one who was cheating, not me.

“Frank you have to get me out of here.”

“I don't have to do anything.” He sneered.

I stood up and he looked surprised. “How did you ge-”

“Do you know who that is?” I asked while pointing to Keira. He shook his head no.

“She's my mate and the Princess of werewolves.” His eyes widened. “Alpha Dan injected us with the research medicine that we give to the rogues.”

“The alpha has the keys, you know I can't do anything with all of this silver.”

Malik came running to the cells. “They're on the way now. I managed to get this.” He pulled out a syringe. “I could only get one, I almost got caught.”

I snatched it and ran to Keira. “What are you doing Warren? You need to take it in case the Alpha comes down here, you can catch him by surprise.”

“Are you crazy!? My mate is in pain, she needs it more than me. I'm fine.” I lied. I was actually struggling to stay standing. I didn't care about myself my mate was, is, and will always be number one. I injected her with the medicine. It will take about an hour or two for it to work.

“You guys need to get out of here before he suspects something.”

“You're right, I've been gone long enough.”

After they left I finally sat down. If they would have stayed any longer I would have probably passed out. I ate the food and drank the water hoping that it would make me feel better but it did nothing but make me feel worse. I threw up everything that I ate. I layed back down beside Keira and fell asleep.

"Warren! Oh god. Warren wake up please. You cant leave me!" I opened my eyes to see Keira crying beside me.

"Warren don't you ever scare me like that again."

We heard the door open then growls. "Take me to her now!"

"Damon!" Keira yelled. "Over here!"

"She's over here Damon."

The cell door opened and Prince Damon walked in with hand around the back of Alpha Dans neck. I could barely keep my eyes open.

"Damien we have to help him!"

"Whats wrong with him?"

"You!" She growled.

If I wasn't so sick I would have laughed at the scene. Imagine a 5'7 girl attacking an 6'3 Alpha. He had scratches everywhere like a cat attacked him.

"Calm down Keira."

"What the hell did you inject us with you sick freak?" I heard Alpha Dan laughing.

"Something that will keep you in pain for days. No one knows where the reversal drugs are but me. So let me go and your sister and mate can have it."

Damien

I've had enough of this poor excuse of an Alpha. When we got here he was planning an attack on Ryan's pack. My dads put a new rule years ago that if you wanted to go to war with another pack then you had to give them notice in advance to prepare. It was a good rule because no one could be taken by surprise. The packs would go head to head, that way there would be no dirty fighting or questions about who was the strongest. I don't have time for this! Serenity is at home sleep. I wanted to see her face when she realizes that she slept in the same bed as us.

"Where is the reversal drug?" I growled. He didn't answer so I broke his wrist. He screamed out in pain and gritted his teeth.

"I wont ask you again." I sneered. He still wouldn't answer so I broke his arm. I went to the right side to break his wrist but he finally gave up.

"Take me to my office."

Damien helped Keiras mate up the stairs and into the office. He put the code in and got the syringe out then injected warren.

Warren

As soon as he injected me I started to feel better. I was still weak but at least I could stand. I knew that being Keiras mate meant that I had to move with her. I couldn't leave this pack without an Alpha.

"Where's Dean?" I asked.

"Dean is none of your concern."

"He's my Alpha he is my concern. Where is he?" I yelled.

"Somewhere dark, damp, and isolated." He smiled.

"Who's Dean?" Prince Damien asked.

"He's Alpha Dans son. He was supposed to have taken over the Alpha position. I'm Deans Beta but Alpha Dan wont pass him the title."

"This is my pack. My son is not fit to be Alpha."

"Where is he Dan?" Prince Damien asked.

"Where is he?" He yelled.

"Serenity is waiting." Damon said impatiently.

Sh*t Serenity, I left her in the club.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"She's fine no thanks to you." Damon glared.

Prince Damien grabbed Dan by the throat. His claws extended causing Alpha Dan to bleed.

"You will tell me where your son is. That's a royal order!"

Dan told us where he was. They found him at the border in an underground well. He was weak from malnutrition and dehydrated but the doctor said that he would be OK after he rested.

Since my dad had no more sons I got to pick the next Beta. I gave my title to Malik. I knew that he would make me proud. I packed everything and looked at Keira.

"You ready to go?"

"I've been ready."
