Halie's POV
Watching Kyeese suck face with Ian was disturbing. That girl rubbed me the wrong way. Something about her was off. I don't think she intentionally acted like a b***h. Something was wrong with her and I was genuinely concerned.
All throughout practice, I couldn't help but sneak little glances at the guys. Ian, in particular, dominated the field. This one other guy would smile at me, making me blush and look away. Girls would glare at me every time that happened.
"Halie, great job at practice. You're a natural," Heather told me. "Thanks girl. Means a lot. Mind giving me a ride home?" I asked her and she nodded. "Sure thing. Where you live?" She questioned and I blushed.
"Next door to Ian," I told her and she smiled. "Why don't you ask him for a ride then?" She asked and I frowned, shaking my head. "No thanks. I'd rather not, plus I think Kyeese has him occupied," I mumbled, nodding my head towards them.
Heather glanced back and sighed. "What's up with you two?" She asked and I shrugged. "She hates me for some reason. She bragged about Ian f*****g her, so I blocked her." She laughed and I frowned. "I meant what's up with you and Ian?" She asked and I blushed in embarrassment.
"I don't know. I feel this pull towards him, but I feel like he doesn't want my help. I'm not trying to fix him, I want to save him. Saving him gives me hope I can save myself," I told her, without thinking twice. "Wow, you and Ian are something else," she stated. "I don't usually go around spilling my guts," I said to her shyly.
"Don't be embarrassed. Ian hasn't had the easiest life growing up, and trust me, I'm waiting for the day he's back to his old self again. He's not the same anymore," she told me and I smiled a soft smile.
"Oh my god bitches!" Kyeese screamed and we all looked her way. "What?!" One of the dance team members asked in excitement. "Ian and I are officially together!" She screamed and I felt all the air leave my body. "What an asshole," I mumbled and turned away. "That ride please?" I questioned.
"Sure. Come on," she said with a small smile. "Thank you Heather. You're a life savor. Literally," I told her and she chuckled. "No problem girl. Do you want to come over for a while? We can stop at your house first," she said and I nodded.
"That sounds perfect," I told her, following her to her car. My phone chimed and I pulled it out. It was a text from an unknown number, but I knew who it was. Ian. I honestly didn't even care how he got my number. I glanced at the message but chose to ignore it.

Where'd you go?
I scoffed as I slid my phone back into my pocket. "Ian?" She asked with a raised brow. "Ian," I replied with an annoyed look. "I don't understand him!" I said in aggravation. "First, he acts pissed because of what Kyeese said to me, then he goes and starts dating her," I told her.
"Guys are asses, especially Ian. I guess part of him is back," she said in a mock tone. I couldn't help but laugh. "I guess I should reply. I don't want to be petty. I honestly don't care who he dates," I mumbled and Heather smiled. "You go girl. I would have done popped a b***h," she said nonchalantly.
Halie
Heather is bringing me home.
Bad Boy QB
Why? I told you I would.
Halie
Figured you were busy with Kyeese, you know, since y'all official now.
I groaned and Heather laughed. "You got petty huh?" She questioned and I nodded. "I so just got petty," I mumbled. "Here's my car," she said, pointing to a red 1994 Honda Civic. "I love it," I told her, passing my hand across the hood, admiring the beautiful paint job.
"Halie!" Ian called out and Heather and I both stood frozen. "Iaaan!" Kyeese whined. "Come back!" She hollered, but I felt his presence behind me. "Halie," he said in a softer voice and Heather smirked. "Drop her off at my house," she said while moving around to the drivers side and hopping in.
I stood open mouthed, silently killing her. How could she?! I turned towards Ian and frowned. "What?" I asked with a slight attitude. "You just made me miss my ride," I told him in annoyance.
"What's your deal?" He asked and I shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe because you're dating Kyeese after everything she did, but it's whatever Ian," I mumbled and looked away. "I don't even care anymore."
I started walking in the direction of Aunt Carol's house, but I was stopped by a hand grabbing my arm. "Halie, stop. Please," Ian begged and I sighed. "Look. I'm sorry, Kyeese just rubs me the wrong way. If you're happy, then so be it. I just need to go," I told him and pulled my arm away.
"Halie, right?" The guy that kept making me blush earlier questioned. "Yes. Need something?" I asked and I heard Ian growled. "Need a ride home? I'm Trey," he said and I smiled. "Yes, thank you Trey," I told him and followed behind him.
"Halie!" Ian called out again, but I ignored him. "Sorry if I got between you two. That conversation looked heated and I figured I'd help out. Ian will probably have my ass for it later, but it'll be worth it," he told me and I blushed.
"Thanks again. Ian and I aren't really even friends. It's complicated. I actually live next door to him," I told him and he chuckled. "Do you mind if we stop there and you bring me to Heather's?" I questioned and he nodded. "Sure thing," he told me and unlocked his truck.
These guys definitely loved their lifted trucks. "Need a hand?" He asked with a slight chuckle. "Yes," I muttered in embarrassment. "This truck isn't meant for a short person like me," I told him and he came around to me side, gripping my hips.
He lifted me up, his hands grazing my ass. I blushed and he cleared his throat, backing away. "Sorry beautiful," he whispered and I giggled. "It's okay, handsome." I winked and he chuckled, myself laughing along.
