Lord Athan was first to Orașul Sângelui’s large double iron doors. When he broke away from earthy ground to stone porch, the caro pallidi that had been pursuing him lept from its berm and jumped to the surface. It shrilled through saliva sopping teeth, its clawed hands racing for Athan as it attacked. Athan dodged the rush, stepping to the left in a quick parry, but countering with his own claws slicing through the monster’s neck. Lord Athan hissed and screamed in riotous fury as the creature went down; he pounced on to it, locking the caro pallidi within his thighs and then proceeded to pummel its face with fist and claw.
