Exiting the castle was a gruesome site of gnarled claws and blood-laden faces as a few caro pallidi were feasting on the corpses of their fellow fallen ghouls. Raith and Lord Athan dispatched the flesh-eaters near the entrance while Ambrose with Ravana, Serafina, and Mistress Sienna stood back at the castle door’s threshold.
