Charlie smiled her whole way home that night. She really felt like Corey was going to be another Anna. Another big gamble that would pay off tenfold. He was bright and warm, and it would certainly not hurt her sales to have someone so handsome at the register.
He had worked hard and carefully watched from above as Charlie and Anna went through their normal routines. With him helping out Charlie would have more time for marketing, outreach, and potentially looking into a second store.
She had insisted he join her at the diner beside her shop for a quick dinner before he left. She knew he lived in the town of Elmswitch with his cousin and a bunch of other family members so his drive-in for school and work would be long, but he did not seem to mind.
