She couldn't be serious about it. Dragon gods, please tell me that she was not serious! Was she really going to reject me if she ever found out that I was her mate? I knew that she had a hard life before the Alpha Island, but this… One would think that someone like her would be happy to find a mate. A mate is the one person that was supposed to accept you unconditionally, to love you until the end of your days and maybe even further. This was a person you were supposed to share your whole life with, the one and only who would be able to understand you and be with you in spite of everything.
