I felt like I shouldn't speak, nay, I couldn't. It was painful to even try to speak out against the serpent in front of me, "What... are you?"
"I... am a Giant, now but a Demon holding onto the many strings tied to your heart."
"What...?"
"Time will come, and it will be soon," it paused, looking to its side, "When that time comes, you will know, 'tis is not now, of course."
"What do you mean?"
It chuckled, "Strings much similar to my brother of beasts."
"What?"
"Name... what is your full first name?"
"My full first name?"
"Tell me."
I hesitated at first since I could feel my lungs squeeze each time I spoke, "Mathákur... Mathákur Arnottir."
"Do you know what your first name means?"
"N-no..."
"Hm... a bit lost the language is?" The great serpent retreated into the shadows, "You must return now, for that is where you must search."
*****
I guess my other prediction was correct as well but I think it's a bit earlier this time and the whole situation regarding Melamir (that might happen) hasn't happened yet.
Sorry, I should explain.
"MARRY ME!" She shouted - a young beastkin woman with short black hair, two pointed ears poking out from her hair, and a twitching bushy tail sitting at the bottom of her spine and poking from her uniform shorts - her caramel-colored skin shining under the light which poked out from the windows sat right next to us. "YOU BEAT ME, SO MARRY ME!" She kept demanding, slamming on Mikael's table violently.
"I DON'T WANT TO!" Mikael screamed back, worry spread across his face.
"I knew it, I knew this would happen!" I spoke out, and both spun around to look at me.
"How!?" Mikael yelled out, gripping his chair.
"I dunno, I just figured it would happen."
The beastkin girl put a hand to her chest, "After 14 years old, we beastkin are constantly looking for our betrothed, the ones who will be stronger than us and prove they have potent se-"
"No, no, no!" Mikael cut her off, "Please, don't say that!"
"I have not been able to find the perfect mate until now! I am even fine with polygamy if you will it so!"
"Oh... you're so weird..."
"I am not! I am a beastkin!"
This is very entertaining and all since I've never seen Mikael make a face like that before but I have no clue what this girl's name is.
"What's your name?" I questioned her.
"Hmph!"
Did she just "Hmph!" me? She just did that didn't she? I think that's the second person I've met that has done that unironically.
Mikael sighed, turning to me, "Her name is Xue Shuang."
I waved to her, "Hello, Xue."
"I don't speak to those weaker than me!"
I wish... oh god I wish I could've punched the ever-living s**t out of her but she's right.
"Hey!" Mikael shouted, turning in his seat to look at her.
"It's not like I'm wrong! Tā bùguò shìgè bèndàn."
"What did she say?" I asked, Mikael, shrugged. I sighed, "So... how'd you two meet?"
Mikael let out a long sigh, leaning into his chair, "She heard that the Hero was coming to this academy then 'searched far and wide', her words," He paused, leaning forward "Then when she found me, she challenged me. I won, and... now we're here."
"That happened in like... a few minutes? The day just started."
"Nah, it happened last night."
"Oh..." I snapped my fingers and pointed to Mikael, "What happened to the tsundere chick?"
Mikael shrugged, "I dunno, her name is Melamir by the way."
"I know, I just... don't like her."
Beatrice arrived at the classroom we were in, sitting next to Mikael. Xue spun around on the balls of her feet to look at Beatrice.
"You! You are the Saintess, yes!?"
Beatrice stopped what she was doing. (Which was unpacking stuff from her bag)
"I... I am?" She tilted her head.
"I am Xue Shuang! I challenge you to a duel!"
"I'd prefer I don't fight anyone until the competition."
"Then you better not lose to anyone until then!"
"O-okay..."
Didn't think Beatrice wouldn't know how to handle her but now we're here.
Well, that was one of my predictions being correct, depending on what happens there will be something crazy and Melamir will get in over her head and almost die or something and then the graceful Hero Mikael will come to save the day and her shallow ass will fall in love. Am I just that smart? I have to be the greatest being alive y'know - since I'm able to predict such nonsense.
I felt a bit irritated so I decided to smack Mikael across the head and run away. I got caught.
Okay, this is a better time than anything since I came across the perfect example of how f*****g ridiculous this school is.
I was wandering the school during lunchtime and happened to come across something that made me sick, ill even. A young average girl with short blonde hair and the Prince of the damn country being close together and a woman with long purple hair, significantly more beautiful than the girl next to the Prince, who looks like what you'd think a god would look like, watching the both of them from afar, behind a wall biting at her thumbnail. I... do you know what this implies!?
It gets worse, two other guys come out of the woodwork!
The Prince audibly clicked his tongue as they approached - the prince has short silver hair and citrine-colored eyes which glowed and shone upon his eyelashes which shared the same yellow color.
The one's who approached - a battle-hardy guy with sharp black hair and a shark-like toothy grin wearing almost all black. The guy cackled before tapping the shoulder of a nerdy but strong-headed individual next to him.
This nerdy individual was the Vice-President of the school - he had short black hair, glasses resting atop the bridge of his nose with a uniform so tidy, you'd assume that multiple butlers and maids had adjusted for hours before he finally headed out to the world wide world. (I'm saying he's pampered)
I noticed the Third Prince from afar, sleeping on a bench by himself. The Third Prince has short light brown hair with bright citrine eyes like his eldest brother.
I honestly couldn't stand to see the sight any further and retreated into the forest.
As I traveled farther into the forest, the sound of metal slamming against metal could be heard, getting louder and louder.
A blacksmith, tall... that's Frejya, slamming a hammer onto an anvil.
Her back twists and presses together as she raised the hammer into the air before relaxing as her arm fell onto the anvil, sparks flying into the air, a few strands of melted metal falling onto the ground as it has stuck to the hammer-like it was some sort of viscous substance.
I approached her, leaning in to see what she was making.
She turned around, grabbing the end of whatever was on the anvil and placing it in a bucket of water, keeping eye contact with me.
"I'm... Math. I was with Mikael that one-time Melamir tried to fight him."
She let out a quick sigh, nodding to me with closed eyes before placing the now cooled piece of metal back onto the anvil, fully turning toward me.
"A weak one without magic... what do need?"
"Well... I just thought it was interesting to see you here."
"Leave me be... you might make me weak as well."
"Why are you being so rude?"
"You... I should've asked this first..." She shook her head, "I apologize, why are you so weak?"
I pressed my lips together, "Still being rude..."
"Could you answer?"
I sighed, running my hand through my hair, "Well... I don't know. It's not like I haven't tried getting stronger y'know! It's just... I'm stuck like this it seems."
"Like a curse?"
"I guess..."
I realized that she was only wearing an apron and shorts, so I began averting my eyes.
She scratched her head, "So... do you know how to break it?"
"Well... I don't know," I shrugged, "How would I even go about breaking this? Beatrice has even tried checking if it was a curse once but... no dice."
"If I couldn't break something like that and not even a Saintess could find the reason..." She turned to her forge, "I'd kill myself."
I was irritated by what she said of course. I walked away since I knew I couldn't say anything to it but... it made me mad. I hate this feeling... being left behind. "I'd kill myself," she said. Would that help?
It's frustrating.
The day had ended, and I'd gone to bed.
The same dream as before, the serpent approached.
"The curse... you realize it now?"
"Is it really a curse?"
"Yes... do you want to know how to break it?"
"Is it hard?"
"No... it should be relatively simple... at least, the first step should be."
"What's the second step?" For some reason, I didn't feel the same pressure as before. Maybe I had become comfortable with its presence due to it helping me?
"It will be difficult, and you might go mad... but it is necessary... since it is yourself after all... and if you can't accept it, if you cannot feast on it... you will perish."
"What does that mean?"
"The first step is to find your weapon."
"Don't ignore me... please."
"When you find your weapon... sleep, and find me."
"What is this weapon?"
Then I woke up.
