"I don't understand. Lucea, you don't have to like her! She is a loner who doesn't fit anywhere. Come and join our table!"
This is enough, and Lucea springs to her feet.
"I don't understand why you can't leave me alone!" She raises her voice slightly at Cassandra. "Why do you insist on being my friend? I choose to be with the loner, so leave us alone!"
Mia can't believe Lucea has chosen her again. No one has ever considered her before. She feels tears threatening to fall out of her eyes. She gets emotional at every little thing and she hates herself for it. If the tears come out, she is going to be mortified.
"Are you sure about that? Tell me after you reconsider your choice. You are going to get bored hanging out with that one!"
