The girls watch the movie to the end, then go over to Lucea's house.
Mia helps Lucea make lunch, then goes to the cafe with her in the afternoon. She has decided she is not going to be scared of Lucas. She will be pretending not to pay attention to him. Perhaps that will make him begin to notice her.
Lucas is surprised to see Mia at his cafe.
"Has she come to ask to be employed, too?" He asks Lucea when Mia has gone to sit on one of the tables further away from them.
"No. You turned her down once and she can't come to beg you to offer her a job for the sake of her dignity. She has just come to wait for me. Tell me, why did you turn her down when she asked you for the waitress job?"
