Chapter Thirteen Stan had taken Davy with him to wake Jodie. The guy had come a long way to see her and it seemed only right. He didn’t like it for reasons he wasn’t going to think about, but it was the right thing to do. “She’s in the cage?” Davy looked at him in confusion. Stan looked down at him and managed not to offer a “Where else would she be?” Didn’t the guy know anything about her? After waving Davy down to the last cage, Stan stopped at Bertram’s cage to start the morning ritual of brushing and feeding the seven dogs.
