Her head back against the wall and tipped slightly to one side, exposing a nice length of neck. Clearly asleep, he was once again taken by her face. Without the aggressive scowl, she really was lovely. Some women looked innocent, even childlike when they slept. It was something he’d noticed any number of times as he’d carefully slipped out of a bed and left. Marybeth Anne had been like that. Maybe that’s what had kept him in her bed, watching that impossible innocence in such a seriously built body. Long enough to become engaged.
