Chapter Fifteen Stan waited out behind the kitchen for her after lunch. She’d been strangely distant and silent once they’d reached his truck. He’d almost teased her about sharing a shower but thought better of it at her stonewalled silence. During lunch, he’d dropped in on Doug. He was the closest thing they had to a veterinarian on the ranch. He even had a small x-ray machine, more suited for horse legs than human ones but it worked.
