Amy woke up early the next morning, careful not to wake her baby brother up, as she spent the night in his room because he was sad about her leaving. She smiled at the memory because it reminded her a lot of herself. She usually spends the night in her dad’s bedroom when she finds it difficult to sleep.
After kissing Carl goodbye and successfully making it out of his bedroom without waking him up, she went into her room and quickly took a shower. After getting dressed in a comfortable casual wear, she packed her suitcase. When she was almost done, there was a knock on her door.
“Need a hand?” Paula asked, closing the door behind her.
“No, mom. I’m almost done.” She replied, pecking her mom on the cheek, murmuring a
“Good morning.”
“Shouldn’t you be asleep?” Amy asked while putting her skin care products in her suitcase.
“Just wanted to make sure you were okay… Should I tell the Isabella to prepare a quick breakfast?” Paula replied, watching as her daughter closes her suitcase.
“All done… Thanks Mom, but no. I wanna have breakfast with dad. We had a fight over dinner, I wanna talk to him over breakfast.” Amy explained
“I’m really sorry, mom.” She then apologized, feeling guilty for hurting her mom, as she noticed the disappointed look on Paula’s face.
“It’s alright, honey. I understand how you feel… Want a hug?” Paula asked, quickly concealing her emotions.
“I love you, mom.” Amy said into the hug.
“I love you too sweetie.”
Amy said goodbye to her mom and got in her car, starting her journey home. An hour into the journey, Amy received a text from her mom.
'Chris loved the belt. Thanks sweetie.'
She smiled at the text and sent a quick reply.
Half an hour later, her car was in front of her dad’s gate. She punched in the security code and the gate swung open. She slowly drove in and parked her car in front of the mansion. She climbed out of her car and was immediately greeted by one of the maids, who carried her suitcase out of the trunk of her car.
“Thank you.” She murmured, making her way into the mansion.
“It’s about time!” A voice said from the stairs, startling Amy.
“Took you long enough… I was about to come get you myself.” He continued, easing his way down the stairs.
Amy was surprised and at the same time excited to see him. He was dressed like he was going out for a run, that only meant one thing, he spent the night here.
“Good morning.” Was the only word Amy could come up with, as she wasn’t expecting to see Bryan at home.
“Good morning, princess. You feel better now?” Bryan asked with a smile. Amy couldn’t help but smile back.
“Yeah. Thanks for asking. Um… You spent the night here?” She finally asked.
“Seeing how Henry was after you left, I couldn’t leave him to be by himself.” He explained to her.
“How’s dad?” She asked as she was concerned about her dad’s well being.
“Aside from the fact that he hasn’t had a proper meal since you left, he’s good.”
“I need to see him.” Amy said, feeling guilty for making her dad go through such t*****e all because of a stupid argument.
She was about starting her way up the stairs, only to be stopped by Bryan’s strong hand. His grasp on her wrist was mild, yet she could still feel his masculinity.
“He’s sound asleep. That was only possible because you said you were coming home, so I’d advice you go unpack. Let him sleep a little longer.” Bryan let go of her wrist after that and the warmth it brought vanished.
Amy only nodded in reply. She was internally grateful that her dad had a best friend who cared so much about him.
“I’m going out for a run.” He informed her as he started his way towards the front door.
“It suits you.” He suddenly said, getting Amy confused.
When Bryan was already out the door did she realize that he was talking about the perfume he got for her. She instantly felt like an i***t for having not said a proper thank you for the gift. She didn’t even send a ‘Thank you’ text all through her stay at her mom’s place, that was plain rude.
“You’re stupid, Amy. So stupid.” She mumbled to herself, slowly making her way to the kitchen.
Amy went into the kitchen and asked the maids to prepare a complete breakfast, not missing out anything. She wanted her dad to have a proper meal since he hasn’t had one in days.
