Chapter 15

933 Words
It was 1:30am, Bryan was trying to get some sleep after studying some files he’ll be needing for a board meeting when his phone started to ring. He wondered who could be calling him at this hour as he reached for his phone on the nightstand, it was Amy. He wasted no second in answering the call. “Bryan?.. please come pick me up” Amy’s voice said as soon as he picked the call. She sounded shocked and totally disoriented and it sounded like she was in tears. “Amy, are you okay? Is something wrong?” Bryan asked, standing up from his bed. “Please, come get me out of here” Amy replied. Her voice sounded shaky on the phone, causing Bryan to worry. She was supposed to be at home and the last time he spoke to Henry, which was some hours ago, he told him Amy was fine and that she had invited her best friend over, so she wasn’t alone in the house. ‘So where is she talking about?’ He wondered. “Amy, breathe…” He said in a soothing voice. “Are you at home?” He asked just to make sure. It was silent at the other end, and he almost thought the call had disconnected, if it weren’t for her sniffles. “Amy?..” “No” She hesitantly replied. “Where are you?” Bryan became even more worried. “I’ll text you the address” She quickly said and the line went dead. Bryan immediately rushed into his closet to put on a jacket as he didn’t want to waste any time in changing from his white t-shirt and pyjamas pants. He hurried downstairs, outside his mansion and into his black Audi SUV. Amy wanted to be as far away as she could from the party, so she waited outside the gate of the mansion. She was still feeling dizzy due to the alcohol, but it was a lot less than how weak and vulnerable she felt some moments ago. She still hasn’t recovered from the shock of almost getting r***d. The one thing she was proud of, the one thing she had kept so diligently without the help of her parents or best friend, would’ve been taken away from her by force, by some guy she barely even knew. Amy’s eyes started to water at the thought of what could’ve happened if she didn’t fight her way out of the situation. Bryan drove to the address Amy had texted him. On getting there, he noticed a small figure sitting on the ground. When he turned off his engine and got out of the car, he realized it was Amy. She looked so frightened and alone as she stared into nothing. ‘Where is her best friend?’ Bryan wondered, as he hurried to her. Seeing her up close, he noticed that her dress was torn, her hair was a mess, she was holding her heels and phone in one hand while her other hand was holding up her dress, to prevent her breasts from getting exposed. There were tear marks on her cheeks. ‘What the hell happened?’ he thought to himself as he immediately took off his jacket and carefully placed it on her. Amy flinched the moment something came in contact with her skin. She was scared. She thought John had found her. “It’s okay, princess. It’s me” Bryan’s soothing voice said, making her feel a bit relieved. He helped her up to her feet and wore her his jacket properly. “Amy, what happened?” He finally asked because seeing her in this state made him fear that something bad might have happened to her. Amy lowered her head in shame at the question. How was she going to tell him that she was almost r***d because she didn’t heed to their advice and wanted to have fun like the people her age. Bryan would be disappointed in her and he would waste no second in telling her dad. Her dad would cancel whatever he was doing and fly back to California, he won’t rest until he finds the culprit and make him pay for what he did. Amy didn’t want to go through that circle. “Look at me, Amy. Talk to me” Bryan encouraged, but deep down he was scared to know the truth. Amy wanted to say something, she wanted to tell Bryan what happened but she was to ashamed to do it. She was scared of how he’d react. “Did someone… Lay hands on you?” Bryan asked, carefully choosing his words as he stared deep into Amy’s eyes. Amy became teary, her lips quivered and then she started to cry, confirming Bryan’s fears. He embraced her as she cried into his chest, mumbling apologies. Bryan couldn’t help but wonder why she kept saying she was sorry. She shouldn’t be sorry for anything. It wasn’t her fault that some lunatic was at the same party as her. Rather, he felt sorry for her and what she went through, but at the same time he was mad. He was mad at whoever did this to Amy. If only he could get his hands on the bastard, he would teach him a lesson and after that, he would make him suffer in jail. But, that would only hurt Amy more as she would be forced to relive the incident all over again. “Let’s get you out of here” He calmly said to her when he noticed she had stopped crying.
