Chapter 14 Pulling the sides of her jacket together, Lareina zipped it against the cold wind relentlessly gusting into her face. She fought her way through it as strenuously as if she swam against a powerful current. Nick and Aaron toiled along behind her, feet dragging, heads bent to keep the wind out of their eyes. “I’m so hungry,” Nick groaned. “I wish I had a grilled cheese sandwich or a piece of chocolate cake.” “Stop talking like that,” Aaron snapped. “You’re just making everything worse.” A raindrop splashed against her nose and another trickled through her hair.
