Chapter 10 Through a second-floor bedroom window, the sky glowed softly then brightened to hues of pink and blue as if someone pulled a tinted lens over the glass. Lareina sat on the window seat, knees drawn up to her chin, cheek rested against the glass. For her entire life she’d been focused on the horizon, running toward the sun, away from it, never succeeding in catching it or escaping herself.
