Sebastian POV Her eyes were closed as she leaned in, a small sigh escaping her lips. We've been married for at least 24 hours and it felt like the best business deal I've ever had. My family had been on my neck to get married else I lose all of my inheritance. I was given 3 months to introduce a girlfriend to them or I get married to Beverly my ex-fiancee. I looked towards my wife, she was beautiful; sea-green eyes, full lips, a perfect nose, small ears, dimpled chin, dark full hair, flawless skin and a perfect figure 8. She is everything I want in a woman and maybe more like a prize. Above all, I love her personality. She was stubborn, strong-willed, independent, confident and would always speak her mind. I knew I would have my hands full for three years. "Mrs Carter" I called out watching how her eyelids fluttered as she turned towards me. "Tell me about yourself," I said again. "What do you want to know?" She replied pursing her lips. "Well, I did a slight background check on you but it is not enough. So how about we start from the top and get to know each other". I suggested. "O-okay". She eyed me suspiciously closed her eyes and took in deep breaths. "Well, My name is Amy Cheong, born to an American Dad and a Korean mom..." "But I thought you said your Dad was Korean?" I interrupted her. "Yea, it was a mistake. I was so nervous that day and mixed everything up. Now would you please allow me to finish the introduction?". "I grew up without my Dad, left us when I was only five. So I grew up with my mom who is remarried now and have three other kids". "So why don't you use your Dad's name?" I asked. "After my dad left, my mom was so heartbroken; he was a tourist so He and my mom had a whirlwind of romance that ended after the tourist season. According to my grandma, he came back when my mom told him she was pregnant. Lived together for five years filled with incessant fights and non-stop quarrelling. It was as though they were strangers. He finally left after 5 years; they never got married". "Oh, I am sorry for bringing it up" I apologized. "Nah! you don't have to worry about a thing, I've moved past it". She replied with a beautiful smile. "Do you miss him?". I asked breaking the ensuing silence. "Well..." she sighed "I missed having a dad. I missed going to the park with a dad or taking rides with one. I missed getting my hair plaited by a dad or snuggling up beside him. All of my teen years I had this vague feeling that I was the cause of my mom's misfortune and I never felt completed but growing up and becoming an adult teaches you a lot of things. So yes, I wish I had a dad but what can I do...". she sighed and stared at the window.  "How about you Mr Carter?" She nodded her head towards my direction. "hmm...let me see..." I placed my hand on my jaws as I pretended to think. "Well, there's nothing much to say about me. Born into a silver spoon...". "More like a golden spoon" She muttered. "Yeah! grew up on a ranch, lived a normal life like other kids and surprisingly my parents always had time to play with me so basically I grew up praying they go for business trips because they hovered over me a lot".  She was listening to me with an animated that caused my heart to flip flop. She looked so innocent. "So, the slightest of opportunity I had, I left home started building my empire and here we are". "Do you have siblings?" She asked tilting her head to one side she reminded me of a Sparrow I once saved. "Yeah, just a sister". "Do you play any sport?". "Yea, I play a lot of golf and lawn tennis when I have the chance but either way I prefer to just watch than actually participate". "Of course, when you have money, you let it speak for you" she rolled her eyes. "Do you have grudges against money or people who happen to have it a little too much?". "No!" She said forcefully "I don't have problems with rich people, I just have problems with people given this title. People like you who feel like the whole earth should revolve around them, people who don't know the pain of a hard day's work".  I regarded my wife with mixed feelings. Moments ago we were chatting like best friends. "Okay! just slow down okay" I tried to appease her but got the bad eye. "I am sorry" I tried again. She rolled her eyes and regarded me with disgust. "Why are you apologizing?". "W-well..." I stuttered "I don't know, I felt I had offended you somehow and thought it wise to tender apologies". "Men" she screamed in frustration "so hopeless; you only apologize when you've done something wrong not at the slightest of outburst".  "You know what?" She turned towards me anger written all over her face. "I want to go home, take me to the nearest bus stop and drop me off" She was screaming now. "C'mon! what's wrong with you? today is important and I want you to be there". "Well, I am tired of you and I can't stand being in the same space with you". "Okay, we'll just go to the office, sign few signatures and then I'll drop you home". I pleaded again. "Don't you get" she screamed at me again. "I want to be alone". She opened the door of the car while it was still in motion. "O-okay, we're taking you home" I pleaded, tugging her back in. She was livid with anger and I couldn't imagine what I have done or said. This whole marriage thing sounded scary and this was just day one of playing husband and wife. I looked towards her again, her face was a bit relaxed and she was staring at her phone. "I'll stop here" she turned towards me. "But this isn't your bus top?" I protested.  I could see a lot of people hanging around probably waiting for the bus.  "It's easy to be mugged in places like this" I muttered amidst my scrutiny. "I am not going home, I need to make a quick stop to somewhere". The somewhere hung on the air, making an ominous presence. "Where are you going?" It wasn't intentional, it just slipped out of my mouth. "It's none of your business" she retorted unfastening her seat belt. "When are you moving in?" I blurted out, this was unlike me. "Don't think for a moment, I'll be moving in with you" she has already opened the car door even before it stopped; just how much she needed to escape from the sight of me. "Well, we haven't finished up everything we intended to do today, when do I see you again?". "Whenever I want to see you, you will know" she threw me a dirty look before slamming the door at my face. Marriage is really scary.
