I sat down on the parlor couch watching the ‘Never have I ever’ series on Netflix. The intoxicating scent that hit my nostrils made me shudder as I turned to notice Drake sitting next to me with a bowl of noodles and egg. The nice aroma made me lick my lips, making them wet. “Do you want some?” he asked, making me frown.
“What are you doing? Mom hates it when I eat on the couch,” I muttered, making him chuckle. “Your mom hates it when you eat on her couch, but not me, right?” he muttered, taking a huge bite from his food. “Why watch something this boring when we can watch something more blue and interesting,” he muttered but I ignored him and tried to focus my attention on the movie but failed.
“I don't even know anything about you. How about you tell me a little about yourself?” He said as I watched him fork his noodles and egg before taking them to his mouth. “There is nothing about me that you should know, I think you should focus on just enjoying yourself like you are presently doing until my parents arrive so you can get your ass out of my house,” I said as he arched an eyebrow before bursting into laughter.
“Firstly, you look ugly and at the same time hot when you frown your face that way,” he muttered and I couldn't detect if he was complimenting me or insulting me. “Why don't we do it this way? Are you a dog person or a cat person?” he asked, making me raise an eyebrow. What kind of question was he asking?
“I don't like animals,” I muttered while looking at the television.
“What kind of a question is this anyway,” I said, making him chuckle. “Actually, I also don't like any of them, so I was making sure you had none in your house,” he said, and I couldn't help but giggle. The fact that I only said I didn't like animals because he was asking an annoying question was a lie. Maybe I should probably get one so he could leave the next day.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” he asked out of nowhere, taking the last bite from his food. Why was he asking if I had a boyfriend or not? Was that part of his babysitting duty? “Why do you want to know about my personal life, is it part of the babysitting?” I said, crossing my arms.
“You said you planned on having me all night, remember? I have been giving it a thought,” he said as my heart began to thump. I tried to say something but nothing seemed to be coming out. How could he be this straightforward without feeling one bit of guilt?
“Oh,”
The words slipped out, making me laugh like a psycho. He took out his phone before texting something as a wide smile spread on his lips. I was surprised that I wanted to know who he was texting. Wait, does he have a girlfriend? My eyes wandered to his face. He had that lovey-dovey dreamy smile on them as he typed.
“Do you,” I tried to ask the question in my mind but changed it quickly. “How old are you?” I asked as he dropped his phone on the counter table close to the cushion. “Well, I just turned twenty-three,” he muttered, and my mouth was left open. “Don't you go to school or something?” he asked. “Waiting for college admission, just graduated from high school,” I said, making him nod as his phone beeped again.
“What about you?” I asked.
“I’m in my last year in college, I needed to make some money for something important when grandma asked me to fill in for her. I kinda rejected it because I can't imagine myself babysitting a two-year-old, but when she agreed to pay me something huge, I gladly took the offer, and seeing that you are seventeen and pretty is a bonus,” he muttered, as a smile crept through my lips.
“Why didn't you follow your parents on the trip since it is the holiday?” he asked. “My parents are very much protective of me, I don't get to have much freedom and I'm easily grounded. The last time they tried leaving me at home, I threw a party,” I muttered, remembering how fun the party was. “The trip would end up boring for me and it would be better to suck at home with a babysitter than have them detect things for me,” I muttered, making him lick his bottom lips.
They looked inviting and fitted his face just perfectly well. His phone began to ring. He glanced at the screen for a while before picking it up and heading in the direction of the kitchen.
