Jay was right. Ana was cranky and it looked like she did not sleep well. She kept on yawning and she was super cranky and low on energy.
"Did you girls stay awake past your bedtime last night too?" I ask the girls while feeding them breakfast.
Carol shakes her head and Ana, well she looks too tired to make sense of my questions.
"Ana, are you feeling sick, baby girl," I ask her gently.
"No, daddy."
"I hope you remember that lying to daddies is a very big, gigantic, ginormous no-no. I hope you are not lying because you don't want to see Dr. G. " I tell her.
"Daddy! I promise I no sick. You can ask Carol and Ems too. They'll tell you." She says and I nod, satisfied. Well, almost satisfied.
"Did you not sleep well? Did you have bad dreams?" I ask her again, as I see Jay coming to the table.
"Who is having bad dreams?" He asks and kisses all three of us one by one.
"No one daddy, not me," Ana says.
"I was only wondering why has she so tired the first thing in the morning," I tell Jay quietly.
Ana leaned over and pounded her forehead against the food tray on her highchair. Thankfully the bowl was in my hand. I winced at the sound it made. Yes, Ana was that sleepy. Jay looked at me looking at her and shrugged. I am gonna take her to G if this doesn't stop.
Jay stood up, stretched like a cat arching his back as he bent backward over the chair. He then stood up and picked Ana into his arms. "It's okay baby, somedays all we wanna do is sleep, right?" He says and kisses her. She nods, rests her head on his shoulder and goes back to sleep. Carol catches me rolling my eyes at them and giggles.
