Eighteen
Apparently leaving to order a picnic basket for me and Whyte for the next day was a good thing. I am staring at the place I was in 20 minutes ago. If I had stayed put. I would have died. The fire was set. Somebody has been trying to kill me. For months now. And I just realized it.
" Crissy. " the queen shouted as she hugged me.
" are you OK. "
" somebody tried to kill me. " I said blinking water out of my eyes. I never knew that I was crying until she cleans my face.
" Crissy calm down OK. " the queen said softly.
" Crissy. " Whyte shouted as he barrelled straight into us. " are you OK. "
I heard him form the words but my brain couldn't string together words to reassure him. I realised that the queen didn't deny it. She avoided the question. T
