Prologue - Past - Jackson
"Hey, Love!" The brown curls swayed from side to side as she walked towards her boyfriend.
"Good morning, Selena..." Kristian replied as he picked up the book he would need for his first class in his locker.
"Only this? Where's my kiss?" Leaning her head against his right shoulder, she questioned him with her beautiful brown eyes watching him and her pink pouting lips.
A faint smile appeared on Kristian's lips, after all that was Selena. A young woman who was neither tall nor short who had brown eyes and hair, a body with beautiful curves that would make anyone jealous...
"Heeeyyy! I asked where my kiss is." She asked him again wrapping her arms around him. Making him give in to her request, because who was he in Earth to deny her something.
"Hey! Man!" Vinny called as soon Selena unglued her lips but still close to him, she said she would go to the classroom smiling allowing her lips to one last time brush against his.
"Hey! Vinny! Where is everyone?"
"They?... Got tired of waiting for you. What's happen? Lost track of time?" Vinny asked despite already knowing the answers, after all, they both had gone to a nightclub last night. He returned home 'early' but when he left Kristian already had some new companies. "Man... I don't know how you can do this while having Selena as a girlfriend, I know people who would kill to be in your place."
"I know..." Kristian said looking at the direction Selena had followed. "That's why they're not me."
Vinny laughed, he couldn't believe in what he'd heard however, that was the Kristian he'd known for a few years now. He glanced once more time toward Selena's way before following his friend to the classroom since they both had the same subject at that time and like that class, the next few days passed in a smoothly way and it was finally the weekend to the joy of Sarah and Melissa!
... It was barely morning when the girls had gotten up to prepare everything they needed for the night, or rather for the big party at Melissa's house. Soon their phone call turned into Vinny's alarm, along with their request or better, order for he arranges the drinks they would need.
"Have I told you how much I hate you girls?" He asked them as he put the bulk of beer on the floor, thanking the Gods as it was the last one. "If no. I hate you!"
"Yes. Yes. I already know that." Sarah didn't pay so much attention to what he was saying...
... It wasn't the first time...
"Sarah! You-" Melissa walked in the room, two bottles filled with some weird liquid in hands as she called for Sarah. "Hey, Vinny! I thought you wouldn't come anymore."
He would say something to her when Kristian handed him a snack packet and told him to eat it and simply ignore them, as they were worse than normal because of that stupid house party... And they hardly knew... That would have been better...
... If they controlled the girls...

I was sitting with my eyes closed in my office, or rather officially mines from today, when I felt and notice their presence in there... Vinny sat on the arm of my chair as he continued his conversation with Melissa about the first and most remarkable party in our senior year of high school...
"Gosh! I still don't know how you convinced me to play tarot for you that day." That comment from Melissa about the afternoon from years ago when she ended up playing it for Vinny and Kristian made me laugh.
"Simple," I said, interrupting their conversation and making them both look at me. "The same way I convinced you to play for me."
"Eh! Melissa read the cards for you too?" Sarah, who was silent until now resting her back on the door spoke up. "... Anyway, did Kristian send you any message?"
"Yes, she read. And... About Kris... No, no messages yet." It wasn't the news she hoped for.
"I remember perfectly! Your result was completely the opposite of Kris," Melissa said smiling at me. "Your soulmate would be easy to find since you would always be close to each other."
"How unfair Mel! You never told me what you read in my cards, Melissa!"
"Of course... Who told you to pour soda in her cards?" Sarah defended her before sighing, rearranging her glasses and once more looking back at me. "I think would be better if you go downstairs, my aunt is already in crisis because Kristian hasn't arrived yet."
And so it was done. Without a word, I just got up and headed down to the living room, where from outside I could already hear Kris's mother complaining how much irresponsible he was... I was in the room when I felt the sweet scent of roses and caramel that left my wolf side shaken, mainly because I couldn't define where that smell came from...
... Probably the owner of that perfume would be running in our animal form or something like that, I thought as the smell was getting stronger...
More and more the scent was increasing and my mind only thought of finding them until it was finally close enough... They were here. In front of the Pack's house, I could feel!
Without controlling myself I ran outside and I hear people calling for me but I decided to ignore, after all, I knew that everyone in the living room would follow me... Outside I finally saw the owner of the smell that dominated me leaving the car that had just been parked...
And me?
I didn't believe who I saw before me. Her olive golden skin hadn't changed since high school. Her brown hair was still beautiful and full of curls, but now it reached her shoulders.
Overall...
She's still beautiful... Her hourglass body stood out in her high-waisted skirt that followed glued lightly until above her knees and a matching dark wine top that looked even more elegant with the black heel she wore.
... She ran a hand through her hair and threw her bangs to the other side and again I inhaled the sweet scent of roses and caramel. That left me confused along with the beating of my heart...
...As I mentioned she still beautiful. She. My best friend's ex-girlfriend, Selena was before me and I... I couldn't believe what I saw... I just thought...
You CAN'T BE my Mate!!!
