The MonsterEventually he grew weary of the long winter he'd escaped to. It wasn't the cold; he could withstand that well enough. His body was strong. There were fish to catch in the icy waters, and sometimes he could creep up on a seal and wrestle it to its death. The flesh and blubber could feed him for a month. He hated to butcher the creatures but it was a matter of survival. His house was built from their furs lashed over whale bones. He'd extended and reinforced it again and again over the decades. When sickness came, as it did even to him, he could lie on his seal-hide bed and shiver through until it subsided. Water was always plentiful.
