With the doorbell continuously ringing, Piper nervously went to check the peephole. Seeing Ezrah, a smile bloomed on her face, and she opened the door, relieved that it wasn’t Sebastian. Perhaps he missed her because she had kept away for a while. “Where are the security men, and why is your phone switched off?” Ezrah’s voice was cold, but Piper could only interpret it to mean he was worried because he could not reach her. Ezrah had only called her phone number after noticing the absence of the security men he hired to watch over her. “I wanted to rest a little. Come in, and let me fix a drink for you,” Piper beamed, letting him in and closing the door.
