Chapter 5: That Night, Five Years Ago

The man did not raise his head when Poppy entered. His gaze was fixed on the report in his hand, and his tone was cold, "Yes?" With a smile, Poppy took two steps forward and bent down slightly, revealing her beauty. The light illuminated a jade necklace around her neck. "My sister's family will hold a birthday party for my nephew next Friday. My sister specially asked me to invite you." As she spoke, she deliberately moved forward. She did not believe that Stanley Grant could still act like an iceberg when he saw her beauty. Unfortunately, Stanley did not raise his head. He rejected Poppy with just two words, "No time." The only reason why he tolerated Poppy was because of that night five years ago. She had saved him with her innocent, virgin body. Poppy's heart exploded with rage after being rejected. Since the incident in which she had replaced Lilly Morris, she got whatever she wanted. However, Stanley had never taken her seriously. Nothing could possibly happen between them. On second thought, Stanley Grant was Globe Aviation's sole heir. He had a stunning appearance as well as extraordinary abilities. All the women in Skargness wanted him. She couldn't let this golden opportunity pass her by at this critical juncture. So she smiled even more brightly and said to Stanley, "It's still early anyway. You have something to do, so I'll go first." She turned around and left, leaving the invitation on the table. ... Lilly sat in front of the computer at ten o'clock at night after a shower. She opened her email to check her inbox. After all, she wanted to settle down in Skargness. First of all, she needed a stable job. A new email appeared in front of her. It was news from the resume that Melissa had helped to send out. The email asked her to go for an interview on Monday, signed by Company NC. Lilly was taken aback when she received the offer from NC. This establishment had established an excellent reputation in the architecture industry even though it had only been in business for three years. Their work received worldwide recognition even though the owner was a mysterious person. They had even won the award for the best Architectural Design last year. It would undoubtedly be a beautiful addition to her resume if she could get this job. Lilly smiled happily for the first time in the months as she thought of this.
