Halloween Part- II

Hazel POV 

I am getting bored now. I have cleaned and decorated the complete house and I have also decorated the outside garden with some scary pumpkins and ghost’s faces. I couldn’t find anything good on television too. 

Maybe if I go out for an hour or two and come back before midnight, Grandma wouldn’t know. 

Why am I behaving like a small girl, I am grown up now and should be able to go wherever I want. Yeah but I will be back soon. I don’t want to trouble my Grandma.

I quickly go into my room and look for something to dress in. There is not a lot to work with since I wasn’t knowing that I would be going out. So I put together my own outfit with a scary makeup. I look myself in the mirror one more time. 

“Let me put a different color of lenses” I decide. 

Now that looks great. 

I keep the house lights on so no-one would think it empty and lock the door. 

Where should I go? 

I wanted to try the bar, that is close to our house. I always wanted to try that and today being Halloween I feel like it would be more exiting. 

As I am about to leave the house, I feel like something is stoping me. I look around and there is nothing. 

“Maybe it’s just the spooky feeling of halloween” i mutter to myself as I leave for the bar. 

Xander POV 

We have been waiting in the bar for almost two hours with no clue of the vampires. There are mostly bunch of kids trying to scare anyone and everyone coming inside. 

“Who do you think I should ask out tonight? The slutty nurse or the sexy devil” Sam asks me totally distracted from the task as usual. 

“I am telling you for the hundredth time we are not here to pick up girls” I say in annoyance 

“But you said we are here to pick up someone. So I thought it would be girls. Rest I don’t know your preference” he says with a mocking smile. 

“You do know my preference. And those are the girls you try to hit on.” I reply back with a grin on my face just to turn my face sideways and see him scowling. 

“Why don’t have we beer while we are waiting” sam suggests 

“Yeah sure, it’s of no harm” I say and step down on the seat near the bar 

As I sit down with my back facing the entrance, I feel a cold chill behind me. Like a presence. It’s as if the bar is getting colder now and I look around. 

I see the ghostbusters are talking among themselves too and there is rise in commotion. 

I take out my ghost catching board and lay it on the table in front. The bartender gives me a look but then busy himself again. 

Wow he thinks I am some kind of grown up weirdo

As I put the board down, I see that the direction pin is moving around. 

“What’s that weird looking thing” Sam ask me from beside 

“Let’s just say it is the source for our income now” I reply back 

“You are a child in a grown up body Xander, still playing the board games” he says 

“Board games are not just for kids” I say back 

I am about to tell him to shut up and let me concentrate when I notice that the pin has stopped moving and is pointing at one direction. 

I look up with trembling fear. My body is shaking completely, my arms are getting sweaty and my breaths are coming slowly. I am about to see an actual vampire. 

When I look where the pin is pointing, the end is at a girl sitting alone at one table. Maybe it’s a monster in disguise of a girl. As she opens her mouth to take a bite of food I could see the sharp fangs and I almost fall from the seat. 

“How do I do it?” I text the ghostbusters who also seems to be looking at her. 

“We provided you with the board and we would be focusing on the ghost. It’s uptown you how you catch the vampire” they text back 

“Oh no, what I am going to do” I mutter to myself. 

Right now I only have a wooden stick and some blindfolds and cloth. The later was the things I was supposed to gift to my Landlady, but seeing her reaction to the book I changed my mind. 

“This has to do” I say to myself again as I slowly move towards her table. 

I couldn’t do it here. I have to take her out with some bait. 

I turn to Sam and in my mind I know that he would be the one to be sacrificed today for the sake of saving the humanity. 

I take out the knife I had with me from the stock of my Landlady and as if he turned away I give him a slight cut on his thigh. 

He almost yell out but I shut his mouth with my hand. 

“WTF dude. Are you insane” he whisper yells.

“I owe you one for this, now let’s go outside” I say to him. 

“You better be taking me to a hospital, jerk” he say in an irritated tone. 

the path I take to move sam outside lands us in view of the vampire and I know she has noticed as she stand up from her place and start to follow us

As we are out I leave Sam’s arm and prepare myself for the vampire 

“Would you tell me what the hell is going on?” Sam yells now 

“Just wait…” I say as I notice her coming out and slowly move behind a place from where I am not seen by her 

“Where are you going? “ Sam is about to follow me when the vampire start speaking 

“Dude, You are bleeding. Let me take a look” She says

As her attention is only on Sam, I come from behind and hit her head hard and thankfully she falls down. 

“And that’s how you catch a vampire” I say as Sam now stumble back and then heads straight for me launching me on the ground with him 

“You set me as a bait, you asshole” he punches me hard on face.

“Now I don’t owe you anything” I say as I get up and start to tie her up.

“See you later Sammy boy” I say as I put her on shoulder and start to move towards my house where the interrogation would start.
