To his bedroom

EZRA Ezra had barged into Axel's room again, unapologetically, and slammed the now signed slave contract on his desk. Axel raised his eyebrows, annoyed, as he turned to look at her. Almost with disbelief that she actually disobeyed him. "Are you happy now? You just made my life twice as worse than it already was and the worst part is, I don't even know who you are or what I did to deserve this!" Ezra threw her hands up in utter shock but Axel just watched, doing the least to calm her down. "Get out at once or get ready for the worst, Ezra," he said in his menacing low voice that almost scared her. "I'm not a f*****g pushover. You blackmailed me into signing this but don't expect me to obey you like a f*****g servant," Ezra yelled out, not bothered at all. She thought to herself, what's the worst that could happen? It wasn't like he would kill her. "That's why I find you so interesting, Ezra. You're still looking at the bright side, hoping it'd be of any help thinking the worst-case scenarios are not as bad," he started stepping towards her, slow and steady, buttoning the shirt at his wrists. He was wearing a white shirt and a navy blue vest, the blazer still hung. His hair was slicked perfectly which gave the illusion that he was shining. "Don't come near. I won't hold back if you try to force me!" She said boldly, but her intimidated body told a different story. She took a few steps back. Then only did she notice that he had his hand locked behind his back like he was hiding something. "You're stubborn. And you should know that I love stubbornness as much as I f*****g hate it. And I love to break and rip that trait out of people like you," he said. At the end of his sentence, he was already too close for Ezra to get away so she chose to stand tall. He was still easily towering her. "You might've dragged me into your perverted musings but I'm not going to go along with it... never!" Ezra said, not stepping back and holding her ground. A smirk played on his lips and he nodded knowingly like he had expected her to say it. "You're all talk, Ezra. You don't think enough. All that while you've been boasting, have you ever thought about the consequences? Did you really think I'd go on with this conversation to entertain you? Did you think you'd end up being...", he dragged the last word, not ending it yet. Suddenly, she saw him lean over to her, making her freeze and her mind blank. He held out her hand but she couldn't do a thing about it yet when she suddenly heard a clack. A satisfied smile spread across his lips that made alarms blare in her mind. He held up her hand for her to see and her mouth dropped open. "...cuffed?" The evil look on his face made her completely stiffen. She gasped in disbelief as she saw her handcuffed, the other cuff still in Axel's hands. He knew she'd try to defy him so he wrapped his hands around her, and lifted her up and on his shoulders without wasting a moment. When she finally snapped back to her senses, she struggled and groaned to get out of his grasp but it was impossible. Before she could do a thing, he laid her on his bed and climbed on top of her, his devilishly handsome face looking down at her with a smug grin. "No... you can't do it...", she whispered, intimidated and almost trembling but he didn't let go. Instead, his lips dawned closer to her, making her try putting her guards up. "So weak and feeble, aren't you? What made you think you can win?" He laughed a little before backing up slightly. He placed both of his hands on either side of her, eyes seducing her as they kept dropping to her lips, making her shiver. But suddenly, she heard another clack. Her hand was now cuffed to his bedpost. "I don't want you to cause trouble so be still. You'll be here until you calm down, how about that?" His words were infuriating but his voice was too heavenly and she hated him for it. Shocked and dismembered, Ezra watched him climb off her and grab his blazer before walking right out of the room in the blink of an eye. ~ It was already half past 2 when the door opened again and a butler stepped in. Ezra's face flushed with embarrassment because the butler could see her still cuffed. He didn't say anything but went ahead to unlock her and free her. Part of Ezra thought Axel would return but he didn't. She could feel the slight shiver in her body as she looked down at herself. She was wearing the servant uniform, her hair tightly knotted in a bun. No one said a thing about her being that late to report for the servant job she was given. Lady Helen walked towards her in a superior manner. She gave her a bitter smile. "I'll let you off this time. Don't be late from tomorrow," Helen said, raising an eyebrow. Then she dawned a little closer and said, "as you're going to stay here for a long time now." Then she walked away with a mocking smirk. Ezra clenched her fists, determined to throw a punch or two. But she held herself back. She realised that she was saved from a punishment because of Aireen. "Follow me," Helen said before leaving and both the girl rushed after her to catch up. As they walked through the corridors once again, Ezra saw everyone in the same position as her, working in different sections of the mansion. She was led to the main hall. "Aireen, you do your usual duty," Helen ordered but she didn't move away. "Because... it's her first day, I'd like to help her around. So that she doesn't make any mistake in front of Mr Ledger. We don't want to make him unhappy," Aireen said with a greatly reasonable look on her face. Helen took a moment for herself and then nodded, agreeing. Ezra was trapped. She was his now. ~ "NO WAY! NO WAY IN HELL AM I TOUCHING THAT!" Ezra's mouth dropped open at what lady Helen handed to her. Almost gagging, she backed away. She didn't think this through that well and wasn't expecting such a thing to stand before her. Ezra was handed the supplies and asked to start by cleaning up the toilets. "I'm leaving, I don't even care anymore," Ezra announced, turning to walk away when Aireen grasped her wrist and stopped her. "Wait- it's okay, she'll do it," Aireen said. "No, I will f***ing not! I'll die before I touch that," Ezra said, holding her hands up in distress. Aireen glared at her and turned back to Helen. "She'll do it, no problems. You can go now, I'll take care of it," she said. Ezra was about to complain when she felt Aireen squeeze her hand. "You sure?" Helen asked. Aireen nodded without hesitation and then she walked away. "Why would you say that?" Ezra said with a hushed voice. "You.. are not in a position to complain, Ezra. Clean up the windows and I'll do the toilets," Aireen sighed a little. "No, but-" "It's okay, I'm used to it," she walks away. Ezra watches her leave and realises Aireen wasn't just someone who works here for the money. She has more than she shows. ~ After that, Ezra found herself in a position she never imagined herself in. She had a dustpan and a broom in her hand. She had only watched people cleaning up from afar at the mansion let alone doing it herself. That too, for someone else. But she gulped down her ego for a moment to be grateful that she didn't have to go near the toilets and clutched the broom. She slowly raised her hand and started dusting the windows. With guilt, shame, dread and uncontrollable coughs because of her dust allergies, she didn't stop to rest. When she was done after an hour, she expected to finally rest. Ezra stood before lady Helen to inform her about the success of the duty but she wasn't someone Ezra was expecting a compliment from. "Get to the floors. QUICK," Helen ordered, pacing away immediately. Ezra stood there, frozen. The floors? How much worse could this get? Ezra could feel the churning pain in her muscles as she mopped around the longest hallways she had ever seen. She was exhausted and it wasn't even noon yet. Suddenly, she heard a shriek of a girl and a thud, a little away from Ezra. She looked to her side to see a girl sprawled on the floor and realised what she had done. Ezra's mopping had made the floor so wet that it had formed poodles. Immediately, lady Helen appears and her eyes widened. Her glare hits Ezra and she yells out. "You i***t! You're good for nothing! Do it all over again!" Helen stormed away again. Distraught, Ezra slumped over. She regretted it. She regretted listening to that Aireen girl so bad. She'd have been happier dying on the streets. ~ After almost two hours of relentless mopping and aching body, Ezra slumped onto the sofa in the living room. She didn't care if anyone was watching and might object. She was too tired to deal with any of it. That's when her phone lit up and she looked at the screen. It was a text from an unknown number. "I saw what happened on the news. I know we haven't talked in years but I adored your mom too. Even if I can't help you, I can show you a way out," the message said. Ezra frowned. She had received a lot of similar messages recently from people trying to make fun of her but this text felt different. The person had mentioned Ezra's mother which made her doubtful. "YOU ARE SITTING? HERE? Do you even know how expensive they are?" Lady Helen popped out again, raging in fury. Ezra could've bet Helen has been stalking her. "Go and do the dishes." With that, hours of torture and mental breakdown followed. But everything ended up in dread and repulse. Ezra found herself with a new urge to get her revenge. ~ Ezra's family was rich but as she looked across the kitchen to see the number of dishes being prepared, her eyes faltered. Every dish had a different essence and it just overflowed to the point of nausea. Washing the dishes cost her a lot because the sight of them made her gag even if it wasn't that bad. Closing her eyes shut and shedding a few drops of tears along the way, she pushed herself away from the counter once she was done. "I can't believe- this is actually happening to me!" She muttered to herself, clutching her uniform in shock and disgust. Suddenly, Aireen pushed past her saying a few words in Ezra's ears. "Hold on," she said. Ezra looked up to see the servants taking up the dishes to set up the table. Lady Helen glares at Ezra which makes her get back to work. The table was being set up almost like a feast. Ezra turned to Aireen who was setting up the cutlery. "Are the others coming down too?" She asked. "Others who?" Aireen frowned. "He's living alone." "Hurry up! He's here!" The guard at the doorway informed and they started hurrying up. Ezra moved up to the window on her side and looked out to the main gateway to see the black car pull up. The door was opened and Axel stepped out, pushing his hair back. He had already started walking in when the car door opened once again and someone else stepped out. A blonde woman wearing a golden bodycon dress and wobbly legs started following Axel inside. Ezra stood in a corner, her breath heavy. She waited for him to turn up to the table but when he did, he had different intentions. Axel appeared at the table and Helen motioned him as if to say dinner was ready. But Ezra watched Axel's eyes pay no attention. His eyes were looking for something. But his search ended when his gaze landed on Ezra. It was as if he was confirming his victory. Then he turned slightly to his side and the blonde girl slipped into his arms. He didn't say a word as he waved his hand and started walking to his bedroom with the unknown girl in his arms. After all that was prepared for him, he had the nerve to not even look at the preparations. Ezra clutched her fists, biting back a cuss. "What are you waiting for? Clean it up!" The main servant commanded at once and they were back to work. ~ After another hour, distraught and tired, Ezra lets herself loose as she finally walks back to her room. It was almost midnight. She was dazed as she made her way but that didn't stop her from getting startled when someone tapped her shoulders. She turned around to see a butler. "What is it? My shift is already over...", Ezra complained, ready to bolt away. "You've been summoned to Mr Ledger's bedroom at once," the butler said in a low voice.
