Chapter 2

The other girls bowed their heads in respect, but Alana looked him right in the eyes. "You bastard," she spat. He snapped his head in her direction and walked toward her. She held his stare. There was that natural part of her that was screaming at her to submit and show respect, but there was another part of her that simply couldn't and that part of her, unfortunately, was the stronger one. He stood inches away from her now. She held her chin up high and continued to stare right into his soul. His almost electric green eyes surveyed her carefully before grabbing her chin hard. "Oh, I know you. You're the spitfire, aren't you? Alana, isn't it?" She didn't give him a negative or affirmative and he let her chin go, his lips trailing to her ear. "There are three alphas waiting on you lot, and they're going to want you. You're a challenge. If you don't get yourself ripped to shreds first, I know just the man who will put you in your place and tame you. Don't worry, child. The discipline you've needed all along is something only an alpha can provide." He chuckled and backed away. She wanted to slap him so hard. How dare he mock her like this? This was all his doing! She spit at his feet and the other girls gasped. "Bite me, old man." He ignored her, walking over to Vera, who looked up at him with tears in her eyes. He softened. "My beautiful daughter." He cupped her cheek in his hands and everyone watched on in shock. Alpha Warden had a daughter? And Vera had the blood of an alpha? She threw herself into his arms, not being able to keep her stoic composure anymore. "Papa, please!" Alana's heart lurched, remembering her exchange with her Papa before she left. She missed him so much, and knowing how alpha males got possessive over their females around any male, there was a good chance she wouldn't ever see him again. The alpha simply kissed his young daughter on her forehead and backed away. He then ordered all of the girls to remove their shoes. Alana hadn't come with any, since she was relaxing in the confines of her own home when they came to take her away. She looked down at her dirty, bare feet and growled. She wished she at least had some socks on, just so she could disobey him one last time. He smirked at her and left the room. She felt herself longing to shift just so she could rip his heart out of his chest. Soon the room was silent again, save for the sound of Vera's sobs from the middle of the room. Alana had fallen asleep in the corner, sitting with her head on her knees. It must've been later in the day. Almost all of the girls were sitting and talking quietly amongst themselves or sleeping just as she was. "Oh, you're awake!" She jumped, startled, and looked to her left to see Vera looking up at her with wide eyes. "Can I talk to you? You just seem very approachable." The brown-eyed brunette nodded slowly. "Sure." She wasn't completely comfortable around Vera, especially after finding out that she was the alpha's daughter. She despised her alpha at this point, and she didn't know if she could completely warm up to Vera anymore. The long blond-haired and green-eyed girl sighed happily. "Okay, I know what you might be thinking. I've never told anyone that Alpha Warden was my father. Please don't assume things about me just because I'm his flesh and blood."
